Inclusion Criteria Person with memory problems Diagnosis of dementia Informal Carers, friends and family Ages 16+ family and friends of someone diagnosed with dementia Concerned about someone with memory problems Ages 16+ own concerns or concerned about someone else Health and Social Care professionals Ages 16+ Involved in dementia diagnosis, care and management Researchers at Newcastle University and University College London (UCL) are seeking volunteers We are looking for people to join a working group to design Information and guides for dementia diagnosis and after diagnosis care What is the study about? Getting a diagnosis of dementia and having support soon after can be difficult for some people and easier for others. There are differences across the UK and in different countries. Research teams in the UK, Australia, Canada, the Netherlands and Poland are working together to find out about experiences of dementia diagnosis and support soon after. We would like to work alongside people with dementia, their care partners (family and friends) and health and social care professionals to develop new campaigns to improve dementia diagnosis and support. How can I help? We would like to invite you to join an online working group to help design information toolkits and a publicity campaign for people who are yet to receive a dementia diagnosis and for health and social professionals. We would like to join us with your experience of receiving or giving a dementia diagnosis and to let us know what types of support have been or would have been most useful to you. This will help us to design new information guides and a UK campaign to improve dementia diagnosis and support. Who are we? In the UK the study is funded by an Alzheimer’s Society Project Grant (number 468). It is hosted by the EU Joint Programme – Neurodegenerative Disease Research (JPND). The UK research team is based at Newcastle University and University College London. There are also research teams based in Australia, Canada, the Netherlands and Poland. The study has been approved by the University College London (UCL) Research Ethics Committee (reference: 18567/001), UCL is the sponsor for this study. How can I take part?
