Information about Pop Art
➢ Started in the United States and Britain in the 1950s.
➢ Andy Warhol is the most recognizable artist from this movement.
➢ The aim was to use images from popular culture.

Today, we will use onomatopoeia to create our own piece of a Pop Art style explosion.
We will need:
A4 paper
Something to draw with

Instructions:
1. Pick an onomatopoeia word you like the sound of.
2. In pencil, write out the word in bubble writing in big across your page of A4.
Tip: Try to tuck your words behind each other as you write them. This can be trickier than you think!

Instructions:
1. Now draw the explosion around your word.
2. Add more points around your explosion.
3. Add rectangles around your page as well.
4. When colouring, add dots and a mix of patterns to your Pop Art.

Instructions:
1. Fold a piece of A4 paper into 8 equal pieces.
2. Draw your favourite emoji or image 8 times on each rectangle.
3. Once completed, make sure you colour in each section in a different colour scheme or pattern.

1. Turn your paper horizontally.
2. Draw 2 circles in the middle of your page.
3. Add your mouth and detail to it below the eye.

Instructions:
1. Add a hat to your creature above his eye and eyebrow!
2. Then use freehand scribbles to colour around the eye and mouth providing a real outline to your creature.
3. Continue with squiggles around the outside of your monster.

Instructions:
1. Add further details to your monster by adding the legs and hands.
2. Your second hand will be holding onto a suitcase!
3. On the suitcase, add straps and further detail.
Tip: Try to add a shadow beneath your monster to show them in the air!

1. Now, add your background. Think about where the creature might be. We have added a crater!

1. First, draw the window of your space craft.
2. Add a second circle and then details to your space creature.

Instructions:
1. Add more panels and buttons to make sure it looks like he is in a spacecraft.
2. Now, think of a vegetable that could be sending your creature into space. We will be creating a turnip!
3. When drawing it, think of an upside down tear!

1. Add further detail to your vegetable (turnip).
2. Add speech if you want to!
3. As you are in space, add planets and UFOs into your picture as well!

LO: Draw a range of 3D shapes confidently
Instructions:
1. On a piece of A4 paper, draw some basic square shapes. Keep your lines parallel.
2. Draw 3 diagonal lines off from your square, all with the same length and at the same angle.
3. Then join the lines up to create a 3D square.
4. Attempt different 3D shapes on your page using the same method above. If you draw a circle, you would need 2 parallel lines off from it.

1. Continue filling our page with 3D shapes.
2. Try to then combine your shapes by creating a 3D shaped robot!
