1.3 ORGANIZATIONAL CHART
For Public Library of Merbok, we are sad to say that this library do not provide any
information about their organization. The only answer we get is they are reorganizing their
organization, so the new official information about the organization is not out yet.
So we have decided to provide information about Perbadanan Perpustakaan Awam
Negeri Kedah as a replacement.

1.4 INFORMATION SERVICES
Information services mean that agency or department responsible for providing
processed or published information on specific topics to an organization’s internal users, its
customers, or the general public.
Although this library is just a small type of public library, they still can provide
information for the users. Public Library of Merbok have an inherent obligation to provide
information service to support the educational, recreational, personal and economic
endeavors of the members of their respective communities, as appropriate to the libraries’
individual missions.
Information services in Public Library of Merbok take a variety of directories, reference,
signs, source and access to electronic information.
These guidelines are directed to all who share responsibility for providing information
services, including trustees, administrators, educators, supervisors, department heads, and
information staff in all types of libraries.
So, we have provided many examples of the categories above with some picture.
1.4.1 EXAMPLES OF DIRECTORIES AT PUBLIC LIBRARY OF MERBOK
Directory at Public Library of Merbok are use to help people to make them much easier at the
library. Directories to direct people and instructions.
1.4.2 EXAMPLES OF REFERENCES SOURCES AT PUBLIC LIBRARY OF MERBOK
There are many reference sources at Public Library of Merbok. There are educational
books, newspapers, magazines, journal, article and many more.
1.4.3 EXAMPLES OF SIGNS AT PUBLIC LIBRARY OF MERBOK
There are many signs at Public Library of Merbok. These signs help visitors at the library,
such as subjects, rules, info and more.
1.4.4 EXAMPLES OF SOURCES AND ACCESS TO ELECTRONIC INFORMATION
Public Library of Merbok also provide electronic devices and access to it. Users can use
and subscribe the facilities provided. There are many facilities such as access to the internet,
printer and photostats usage, Online Public Access Cataloging (OPAQ) and also DVD and
VCD.
