Werecentlygaveaverywarmwelcometoadelegationof5visitorsfromFrederiksberginDenmark.TheywerevisitingNewcastlefor3daystolearnmoreabouthowpeoplearetakingactiontoensureNewcastleisdementiafriendly.ThedelegationwhowerefromthehealthandsocialcaresectorwereabletospendtheafternoonwiththesteeringgroupoftheJesmondDementiaActionAlliance(JDAA).TheJDAAsteeringgroupexplainedabouttheworktheyhavedonetohelpJesmondbecomedementiafriendly.ThevisitorsalsoattendedaDementiaFriendsInformationSessioninJesmondLibrarydeliveredbyJoanGrenfellandAnnMcNulty,twoofourlocalDementiaChampionsandmembersoftheJDAAsteeringgroup.ThevisitorssaidtheywereoverwhelmedandinspiredbytheenergyandpassionofthesteeringgroupandtheirmissiontomakechangesinJesmondcommunity.Thedelegationhavetakenwhattheyhavelearnedandhaveproducedareportthathasgonetotheirpoliticiansandleaderswithintheirmunicipality,highlightingsomeactionsthatneedtotakeplacetoensureFrederiksbergalsobecomesaDementiaFriendlyCommunity.
