WE ALL PLAY OUR PART

MINIMIZING RISK AS A CHURCH & STAFF

Latitude Church takes the health and safety of its parishioners, staff, and team very seriously. Latitude Church will remain vigilant in its preparation and precaution in both its midweek and weekend services and events to ensure the health and safety of all that operate within the Latitude orbit. In order to be safe and maintain our growth and mission, we have prepared the following responses to our current operations. It is vital that we all take responsibility by observing the following precautions, as well as becoming informed about the realities of our current season as a country with COVID-19. Much can be achieved when we all engage utilizing the following information in the fullness of its severity and necessity.

RISK, REWARD, & RECONNECTLATITUDE CHURCH IS MINDFUL OF THE RISK THAT COMES WITH REGATHERING

As an organization, we believe it is important that we acknowledge the current trajectory of COVID-19 infections within the greater Craven County areas, as well as the state of North Carolina as a whole. Based on information given by the CDC, there will continue to be an increased risk factor in all public gatherings until a proper vaccine can be created, approved, and administered to all people wishing to be immunized for COVID-19.

Visit cravencountync.gov for accurate information regarding our local cases and patient statuses (as best as information can be properly gathered). Latitude Church also acknowledges that an overwhelming majority of COVID-19 infections take place due to person-to-person contact / proximity. Due to this truth, we will plan and prepare for all services and events to be conducted with social distancing norms implemented.

Acknowledging the facts of COVID-19 and its continued spread throughout the state of NC, we believe that regathering for the sake of reconnection has tremendous reward for our membership and we will continue to communicate openly, change or strengthen distancing guidelines as needed, and be attentive to the larger national conversation of safety throughout our PHASE 1 season.

Page 7: INFORMATION & EXPECTATION · direction of keeping to these guidelines at all times throughout weekly and weekend services and events. All servant leaders are required to wear a mask

In the coming months there will need to be a balance between risk and reward as we navigate through our PHASE 1 of regathering. This balance must be fully acknowledged by anyone attending our services in person. We will enter into this season with our eyes wide open, believing that we all have the freedom to choose and weigh the specific risks that are taken when any public gathering takes place. For our membership and guests, there will continue to be risk, reward, and reconnection possible, and we ask that each person acknowledge and weigh these 3 aspects if considering attending our services in person.

Latitude Church asks that every one of our staff, owners, guests, and team help with the prevention and minimization of COVID-19 spread by observing social distancing norms and practices, making as little person to person contact as possible, maintaining a 6 foot gap between you and others when possible, frequently washing hands, and wearing a mask (if you feel compelled to do so).

We plan to conduct our normal elements of service including, singing and worship, prayer and praise, announcements, sermon, opportunity time, and invitation. Adjusting your hand shaking, your hugging, your seating, your distancing, and your connection with others with a conscious and loving attitude, will go a long way to insure that Latitude will stay open and ministering to all in-person and at-home attendees for the entirety of Phase 1.

FURTHER EXPECTATIONS FOR SERVANT LEADERS AND STAFFWE ARE BETTER TOGETHERIt is important that throughout Phase 1 of our Church regathering in-person that we all maintain high levels of communication within our spheres of serving. If for any reason you feel unsafe or unwell before serving in any position at Latitude Church, you are free, encouraged, and expected to contact our Pastoral Service Director, one of our Elders, or contact us at [email protected]. Additionally, if you are experiencing any of the COVID-19 symptoms, you should contact your direct oversight, champion, or P.S.D. to remove yourself from serving for that weekend.

Servant leaders should show up to call times early enough to have ample time for any oversight to give a briefing and deliver updated information regarding Phase 1.

All servant leaders volunteer their time fully acknowledging the risks that comes with public exposure to others in the context of a service.
