COUNTRY

Ramona comprises a good mix of country ranging from pulled Gidyea heavy Buffel country, pulled Sweet Pebbly Buffel country with associated Salines. Gidyea Burr and Pigweed through to sandy loam semi open forest country timbered with Box, Beefwood, Dead Finish, Sandlewood, Bauhinia and Euca-lypt with Buffel grass established throughout. Ramona also benefits from the flood out Coolibah coun-try along the Alice River which forms the Western boundary of the property as well as Home Creek which dissects Ramona before entering the Alice River within the property. Approximately 40% of Ramona has been pulled, with the majority of the regrowth on this country hav-ing recently been re-pulled. Approximately 2000 acres has also recently been stick raked and burnt.

Ramona is considered to be very well watered and affords the benefit of a capped Artesian bore adjacent to the homestead, which via a poly pipe network services 15 x 5,000 gallon poly tanks and 27 concrete troughs. The neighbouring property “Urambie” also has access to water from this bore, which will have to be continued. In addition Ramona has access to water from the “Lara” Artesian bore, a neighbour on the Northern boundary. This water is distributed via an 8km poly pipeline servicing 3 poly tanks and troughs. In Addition to the bore water Ramona is also watered by 5 dams and seasonal waterholes in Home Creek and approximately 14km double frontage to the Alice River.

Controlled flow Artesian bore. Registration number 2989 latitude 23-54-35 longitude 145-10-18. Drilled January 1925. Depth 1151.5 metres. Supply approximately 129,000 gallons per day. Temperature 68’C. Artesian facility controlled 2003. Groundwater database bore report available.

FENCING Ramona is subdivided into 15 main grazing paddocks in addition to several holding and smaller pad-docks. East and Western neighbours currently constructing new Cluster fences, balance of boundary fencing predominately 3 and 4 barb with the remainder a mixture of plain and barb wire.
