– Rear Fascia: The rear fascia design changes from2018 to accommodate the 2019 tail lamps. Forvehicles equipped with the Dual Mode PerformanceExhaust, the rear diffuser is equipped with aircurtains to help reduce drag.

– Rear Camera Mirror— RPO DRZ: Available on theLT model equipped with the RS package, SS andZL1 (excluding vehicles with 1LE Track Packages). The camera is mounted in the center station of therear spoiler. The rear camera display is integratedinto the inside rearview mirror. A toggle switch islocated on the bottom portion of the mirror thattransforms the view from a traditional rearview mirrorto a rear display camera providing a wider, lessobstructed field of view. The rear display camera canassist when changing lanes and checking forvehicles in the typical vehicle blind spots. It providesa view that is unobstructed by the vehicle’s pillars, deck lid, roof and head restraints. The rear cameramirror also has buttons on the bottom of the mirror toadjust brightness and zoom. 1080p digital displaywith gridlines.

– Forward Collision Alert— RPO UEU: FCA isavailable on 3LT, 2SS and ZL1 models (coupe only).FCA is not available if the vehicle is equipped withthe Performance Data Recorder (PDR) because bothcameras utilize the same location behind therearview mirror. The FCA system will detect when afront-end collision situation is imminent, whilefollowing a detected vehicle. It alerts the driver to apotential crash. Engine AirFilter Life 95% means 95% of the current air filter liferemains. Calculated by the ECM, the monitor doesnot use a sensor and when replacement isnecessary a message is displayed in the DIC. Whenthe REPLACE AT NEXT OIL CHANGE messagedisplays, the engine air filter should be replaced atthe time of the next oil change. When the REPLACENOW message displays, the engine air filter shouldbe replaced as soon as possible. The Air Filter Lifedisplay must be reset after the engine air filterreplacement. To reset the Remaining Life go toEngine Air Filter Life System in the Owner Manual.

– Universal Garage Door Opener: The UniversalGarage Door Opener button has been deleted due toOnStar® buttons re-locating from the inside rearviewmirror.

Transmission

10L80 10-Speed Automatic

The 10L80, 10-speed automatic transmission — RPOMF6 with paddle shift, is now available on the SSmodel. The 10L80 delivers nearly instantaneous shiftsfor maximum performance. In Tour, Sport and TrackMode, the transmission is calibrated with a featurereferred to as PAL (Performance Algorithm Lift), whichholds the gears longer. This prevents upshifts rightaway on a lift throttle, which allows for better poweringout of a corner. The 10-speed transmission is alsocalibrated with a “Smart Decrement” feature thatprovides feedback to the driver in the form of a smalldownshift, when the Driver Mode is changed. SSmodels equipped with the 10L80 also feature CustomLaunch Control and Line Lock, which was previouslyonly available on the ZL1.• Custom Launch Control: This feature allows the

driver to adjust both the launch RPM and rearwheel slippage through the Driver InformationCenter. The DIC now offers a Brake Pressure bargraphic to assist with operation.

• Line Lock: This feature will lock the front wheelsto enable the rear wheels to spin, warming thetires for maximum grip at the drag strip. All specificconditions must be met to perform Line Lock. Theburnout must be completed within 15 seconds.

Updates

The infotainment system can download and installselect software updates over a wireless connection. The system will prompt for certain updates to bedownloaded and installed. There is also an option tocheck for updates manually. To manually check forupdates, touch Settings on the Home Page, followed bySoftware Information, and then System Update. Followthe on-screen prompts. The steps to check for, download, and install updates vary by vehicle.

Downloading Over-the-Air vehicle software updatesrequires Internet connectivity, which can be accessedthrough the vehicle’s built-in 4G or 4G LTE connection,if equipped and active. If required, data plans areprovided by a third party. Optionally, a secure Wi-Fi®hotspot such as a compatible mobile device hotspot, home hotspot, or public hotspot can be used.Applicable data rates may apply.

Over-the-Air Capability

An updatable platform with cloud connectivity isavailable so automatic vehicle software updates can beprovided Over The Air.OTA capable modules are:• Telematics Communication Interface Control

Module.• Infotainment 3 Radio — RPO IOR, IOS or IOT.

(Identified as the A11 Radio in the MasterElectrical Component List).

• The K56 Serial Data Gateway Module.• The Map System On-board SD Card. (If

equipped).

Over-the-Air-Vehicle Map Updates

If equipped, the infotainment system can receive mapupdates over the air. Map updates occur within a 100 mi(161 km) radius around the home address on file. Thisboundary will adjust over time based on drivingpatterns. The vehicle uses a Cloud-connected serviceto receive the data and downloads it to the system’son-board SD card, if equipped. A data plan orcompatible mobile device hotspot is required. The SDcard is required for navigation system function. When amap update is available, a prompt will appear on theinfotainment display. Once the update is accepted, it

will download and run in the background withoutinterrupting any infotainment functions. The downloadwill carry over ignition cycles, stopping and startingwhere it left OFF. The updates can be set to downloadautomatically.

Telematics Communication Interface ControlModule

The OnStar® Telecommunications Platform systemcommunicates with various infotainment componentsvia Ethernet. OnStar® uses the Global System forMobile Communication (GSM) to communicate dataand voice signals over the national cellular network. The telematics communication interface control modulesupports entertainment WiFi® hotspots by providing aconnection to the cellular network for internet access. The module is capable of up to 4G LTE speeds andhouses 2 technology systems, one to process GlobalPositioning System (GPS) data, and another for cellularinformation. The module sends and receives all cellularcommunications over two cellular antennas and cellularantenna coax cables.

WiFi® Support

The telematics communication interface control modulesupports entertainment WiFi® hotspots by providing aconnection to the cellular network for internet access. The radio acts as the central WiFi® router andconnects hardwire Ethernet to the telematicscommunication interface control module. Thetelematics communication interface control modulecompletes the connection to the internet through thecellular network. It has the ability to connect up to 7devices at one time.

Refined Technology

• Adjustable HUD – tilt (side to side) is adjustablethru the DIC.

• Features turned on at Start-up include the Heated/Vented seat, Defrost and Rear Defrost.

• OnStar® Gen 11 still manages the microphone(s).A back up battery is no longer provided in theservice module. Battery will need to be swappedfrom the original module.

• If an OnStar® service module is needed, refer to:#03-08-46-004U: Part Restriction and OrderingProcess Information for OnStar VehicleCommunication Interface Modules (VCIM)

• “Pops and burbles” through the exhaust after awide open throttle event, are more pronouncedthan ever before on all V8’s and 1LE’s. “Pops andBurbles” are created by fuel cuts on downshift anddecel. This is a normal characteristic of theCamaro.

• Eliminated wireless charging on all models except2019 ZL1. Wireless Charging uses the Gen 2System.
