Some possible messages World is better informed than in 2000, but a lot more

and better data is still needed Need to make use of new sources of data, but also

and improved accountability New technologies and new stakeholders should be

approached with cautious optimism… Need to align much better global monitoring needs

What should the project be about?

Focus on the data revolution in developing countries

Concerned with the post-2015 agenda, but not the primary emphasis

Needs to look at the interaction of the international statistical system with countries

Should include analysis of political economy and institutional issues

The country studies Will be designed in two parts

Broad desk review of up to 20 countries based on existing documentation and tools

More detailed case studies in 3 to 5 countries Based on an dynamic analytical framework

looking at gaps between supply and demand Should cover different domains Include analysis of political economy and

institutional issues
