The Machine Eyes Weaving Shed Solution offers our

clients a complete weaving shed production management solution. The Machine

Eyes Solution integrates our own wireless communication technologies to

technology to build a best of bread solution. The integration of Loom Data with

process management is able to deliver a solution that provides management

and tracking of all the factors effecting the production process. We have

integrated each aspect of the production process to form one seamless data

acquisition and process management solution. The Machine Eyes (base)

solution starts from the Yarn input process, and includes Warping, Sizing,

Weaving, right up to Fabric Inspection. Each stage is made more efficient by

minimising the data input ,and thus reducing the scope for human error. By

integration each stage into one single solution managers are given the ability to

track every stage of the production process, and so identify any issues at the

point of occurrence.

The Machine Eyes solution is not the first solution to cater for the Textile industry but is

the first to provide a balanced combination of technologies to deliver a practical and

functional solution. The ideas and concepts that the Machine Eyes solution is based on

are not new in fact most if not all of these concepts exist in the business space today.

Most companies operate a well defined production management process either using

multiple paper based ledgers, or a combination or paper and IT based solution be that

simple excel spread sheets or Oracle based applications.

The difference Infox makes with its Machine Eyes solution is that for the first time

managers can have an in-depth and single flow view of the production process. By

using one solution to cover all aspects of the production process data can be analysed

across the processes to improve efficiency. Infox also brings ground breaking innovation

through the creative use of technology. During the analysis of the textile weaving space

we realised that the key to a successful weaving shed management solution must

include reliable and in depth data acquisition of all aspects especially the weaving

machine data. The failures of past solutions was also analysed. Infox delivers Machines

Eyes with the integration of a wireless loom data system that gathers data directly from

the weaving machine on a second by second bases. With our wireless loom data

technology information is available to manages in true real time so decisions can be

made in-time to effect and improve efficiency immediately. The quality and integrity of

the data allows managers to produce management reports that improve the use of

existing assets this is where those extra few percent in efficiency improvement is

possible.

For the first time weaving and production managers can be given the tools that will

enable them to cross the limitations imposed on them by being restricted to post-

production analysis, where they are only able to affect future production issues but cant

make any real impact on current production or efficiency.

Open Service Oriented Architecture

The reality in any industrial enterprises is that infrastructure is heterogeneous across

operating systems, applications, system software, and application infrastructure.

Multiple applications are used to run business processes and a combination of

technologies are used. Infox has developed the Machine Eyes solution to allow open

connectivity and integration to any IT solution. Machine Eyes is based on the Service

Orientated Architecture (SOA) paradigm making the solution inherently open and

accessible to any third party application. SOA not only facilitates integration between

systems but with its loosely coupled nature allows enterprises to plug in new services

or upgrade existing services in a modular fashion to address the new business

requirements. This technology makes the services consumable across different

channels, and allows enterprise to exposes existing legacy applications as services,

thereby safeguarding existing IT infrastructure investments.

Service-oriented architecture is an evolution of distributed computing based on the

request/reply design paradigm for synchronous and asynchronous applications.

The Machine Eyes application's business logic and individual functions are

modularised and presented as services for consumer/client applications. What's key

to these services is their loosely coupled nature; thus the service interface is

independent of the implementation.

the application consuming the service is based

Application, Java and ASP.NET and can also

be on a different platform or language the

The Machine Eyes solution is based on a solid backbone architecture which ensures the

solution performs beyond client expectation and also ensures today's investment will remain

relevant and useful in the future, but it is the Machine Eyes client which the user sees and

through which all the benefits of the solution are delivered.

The Machine Eyes client is a light windows client which can be run on any PC or laptop.

The client exposes rich functionality to the users enabling them to perform any task from

data input through to data analysis.

It is through a single easy to use interface that each user can carry out their designated

Yarn Input

A key tracking element of the

weaving production cycle is the

Yarn. Machine Eyes includes all

yarn related inputs form yarn

definition, contracts, receiving, and

issuing. Each parameter can be

defined that is used to describe a

yarn quality and these parameters

need only be defined once and

reused across different yarns and

qualities thus reducing repetition of

data entry

Warping Input

The warping task is the start of the

production process. Here issued yarn for

warping is linked through the yarn issuing

reference and the warping parameters

are entered. The interface also facilitates

entry of warping beams and warping

machines. This extra data input allows

us to analyse performance and efficiency

of individual machines and we can also

at a glance see what state our individual

warping beams are in which are free and

which have material and what type of

qualities are supported by the warped

beams.

Sizing / Real-Time Shed View Integrated Solution



Sizing Input

At the sizing stage we can enter

details of the sized beams and we

can see which contact that material

has come form. Each sizing beam is

entered in the system along with

chemical details right down to the

formulation and cost of the chemical.

We can at a glance see what

chemical consumption and cost each

sized set resulted in. We can also

use this data to carry out analysis of

sizing efficiency across yarns, and

chemical formulas.

Dashboard Views

The Dashboard tab provides the user with a

real-time view of the current shed performance

down to individual machines and staff members.

Different views are available to allow for easy

assimilation of data. Every aspect of the

weaving process can be monitored and

displayed. Alerting rules can be defined to

provide auto alerts on the occurrence of a

defined event like above average warp/weft

breakage or delayed response times by

electrical or mechanical staff. Not only is it

important to monitor the machine but also the

environment plays a role, and through Machine

Eyes even this aspect is monitored.

Executive View

The Machine Eyes Executive views

show you status of contacts tracking

the stage of the yarn, how much has

been warped, weaved and what

remains for delivery, You can view the

efficiency of your articles and the

results of the inspections department.

Other factors can be monitored like

the up coming knotting and the

performance of the weaving

machines. These views highlight the

relevant data without the clutter.

Reporting

As you can appreciate every aspect of the production process is incorporated into Machine Eyes, and as

a result you can now analyse any of these aspects across processes and functions. Any efficiency report

can be generated shift wise, weave wise, sizing wise ect.., We have defined seven main groupings

Cross Process Efficiency Reports, Yarn Reports, Warping Reports, Sizing Reports, Weaving Reports,

Inspection Reports, Miscellaneous Reports. It is now possible to accurately predict beam running sate,

and run-out time. We can see easily work out yarn shrinkage, and cross check that with assumptions.

With the state buttons given on the machine eyes devices we can now see how stop times break down.

Data on mechanical, electrical, and knotting is also available to help manage all the staff. Tracking and

cross checking of beam cutting is available to better manage client expectations and planning.

The Machine Eyes has been

developed to work with the uses in

their own style and ways. Machine

Eyes includes a comprehensive

interface that allows you do

customise and define all aspects of

the clients display. So you can use

these colors and visual indicators that

make your working easy. Alert colors

and visual appearances can be easily

defined and implemented

SMS Alert Manager

The SMS management feature is available in the tools tab and allow users to define SMS management

and staff alerts. These alerts are a great tool for informing relevant people of any new arising problem.

Alerts can be defined with multiple levels so if a condition occurs the first level alert may be sent to the

concerned staff members for example if an electrical stop occurs the first level alert may just be sent to

the assigned electrical engineer. A second or third level alert can also be defined which will alert

alternative members of the organisation if a defined event or concern is not resolved within a specified

time.

Integrated Barcode Process Support

The Machine Eyes client is capable of capturing all aspects of data input for each process, but

to aid in ease of operation and work flow the machine eyes solution is integrated with barcode

input devices.

Using the bar code support bails can be tagged with bar code sticky labels this aids the warping

staff. When the yarn bags or cones arrive for warping a simple scan of the bag inform the

warping staff which contact the yarn is for and what quality is to be defined for the warping

beam. Metal barcode strips are also attached to each warping beam and as the beams are

made a simple scan of the beams label attaches the beam to the relevant contact.

When a warp beam arrives to the sizing staff they simply scan the beams label and they know

which contact the beam is to be sized for similar the sizing staff also used the same method of

scanning the sizing beam label to attach the sized beam to a contact.

When a sized beam is mounted on a machine the beam change team scan the machines

barcode label and then scan the new beam this automatically updates the machine details to

reflect that a new beam has been added and as the beam’s details exist in the system we now

know which contact is running on which beam with the length of yarn on the beam.

As the machine produced the fabric we can monitor how much fabric has been produced and

how much remains on the sized beam and how much is currently in warping or waiting to be

warped

When a beam is cut for inspection the cutting team scans the machine from where the cloth is

being cut. At the point of cutting we know exactly how much cloth should in the peace that is

cut and so the inspection team can verify these figures. To tag the cut fabric the cutting team

have access to pre-printed sticky labels at the point of cutting the cutter first scans the machine

from where the cloth is to be cut and then scans a free label. The label is then attached to the

cut cloth. The inspection team use this label to pick up the details of the relevant contact and

the expected quality, and within the system we know how much cloth is with the inspection dept.

Currently Weaving Sheds are well managed and operate at the highest standards but due to

the nature of the tools available to managers the efficiency ceiling is limited. As most sheds

operate on a post analysis paradigm because information and reports are only available to

manages after the processes are complete or shifts are finished. The effect of post analysis

is limited as the type of problems or issues that reduce efficiency occur out of the blue, and

are specific to the circumstances rather than a laps in the defined policy or procedures. The

analysis of the workings of the shed are further limited because data has to be gathered

from different sources, and does not have a simple workflow to enable easy problem tracing

and accountability.

With the addition of real-time support managers can now show their true potential as world

class textile managers. Using the real-time flow of information available through Machine

Eyes managers can reduce the communication gap, and so improve the response times to

problem identification and ultimately resolution.

By having access to the depth and fine granularity of data

available with Machine Eyes, managers can better analyse

the factors effecting the production process, and identify

new factors, which can improve the overall efficiency
