Not a DFI member? Join now for 105 USD (approx. INR 6,500) for an individual membership valid through December 31, 2014. Joining now allows you to register for this DFI of India Conference and future DFI events worldwide at a discounted member rate.
DFI is an international non-profit forum for engineers, contractors, manufacturers, equipment suppliers, and academia to share knowledge that improves the planning, design, and construction aspects of deep foundations and deep excavations.
In 1996, DFI organized its first conference in India in Mumbai (Bombay). Since then there have been significant developments in deep foundation technologies in India, made possible due to the large number of infrastructure and high-rise projects during the last two decades, more of which are expected.
Realizing the need for networking people who work at various levels, within and outside the country, to plan, design, execute and monitor deep foundation construction, DFI established a chapter in India in 2011. The chapter facilitates the interaction of Indian experts with those in other countries. The first event by DFI of India was held with huge success in September 2011 in Hyderabad, as was last year’s conference and workshop at IIT Madras (Chennai).
In April 2013, Deep Foundations Institute of India was officially registered at Chennai with the Ministry of Company Affairs, as a non-profit organization. Together, DFI and DFI of India bring the latest technologies and practices in the deep foundation industry to the Indian market by inviting expert international speakers to conferences such as this one.
