Whisk the egg yolk with the granulated sugar, then add the milk and flour. Stir with a whisk until you have a nice, smooth batter. Fold the beaten egg white into the batter and gently mix together. Melt some butter in a pan and pour the mixture in. Add some raisins if you like. Let the Kaiserschmarrn stick at the bottom for a few minutes until it turns brown on the underside. Tear into pieces with a fork and turn so that it also cooks to a golden brown on the other side. Scatter some powdered sugar over the pieces and mix so that the sugar caramelises.
