“The hides bearing the “Il Veliero” brand are the result of this combination”, explains Filippo Rovini, head of the “Il Veliero” division, “We have introduced historical traditions into the processing and with the aid of the new most avant-garde technological production systems and important cor-porate strengths, we have managed to launch high-protein leather on the market that consequently keeps its valuable characteristics intact while at the same time offering excep-tional softness and robustness for creating footwear, bags, and fashion garments”. “Il Veliero” leather therefore has this

distinctive feature as it derives from a process that calls for important decisions and strategies: a ripening stage in wet blue (the fi rst tanning step) that can take as long as three months - whereas today this step usually only takes a few days - and so there is a continual turnover system for always ensuring availability of this raw material for the most impor-tant fashion houses.

“High technology, ongoing investments and an approach deeply rooted in tradition”, adds Rovini, “allow us to achie-ve this result: on one hand the extended storage on special humpback pallets, on the other, a Riviera process equipped with a computerised barrel system and the administration of the products during the calcination, tanning, re-tanning and dying stages”. INiziative Conciarie ASsociate supports the CD “Il mio Gesù”In the wake of the huge success obtained at the 68th Festival of the Teatro dello Spirito Sanminiatese and at the Obihall in Florence, the musical “Il mio Gesù“ by Beppe Dati, considered by many a true master-piece, has now found a new means of artistic ex-pression in the double CD that has been produced thanks to Conceria Incas Spa, Fondazione Stella Ma-ris, Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di San Miniato, and Cassa di Risparmio di San Miniato Spa.

This musical traces the life of Jesus and Palestine from 60 BC up to the resurrection through the narra-tions of the subjects who were fi rst-hand witnesses. It is a very intimate and personal inner journey via which the author, a declared non-believer, attempts to highlight the traits of humanity in the life of Jesus of Nazareth, traits that still today make his message a valuable reference point for those who, inspired by “good will”, are in search of the Truth.

In some ways, this musical also relates to an impor-tant initiative that we undertook several years ago: a project for “Ongoing staff training” called “Incas Academy”. The aim of this training project is to put the working people, with all their dignity, back in the “centre”, and to view them as a valuable resource rather than an instrumental and objective cost.
