Introduction

Even the best printer cannot produce excellent results by itself, a good printer with a bad ink is a bad combina-tion, a good printer with good ink and bad media is also a bad combination. In order for things to work smoothly and to get good prints, you need to have a good printer, good inks and good media. If one of these does not work well with the other you will not get good results.

The advantage of SIGN Istanbul is that on a single booth you are able to find printers, inks and media, compatible with each other, some from the same manufacturer, some manufactured to work well with each other.

Another important factor after printing is how you finish your prints, at this expo you could find dozens of CNC routers, cutters and laminators to choose from.

We have prepared this report to show all the equipment you can find at SIGN Istanbul, from finishing equipment to all the supplies you need to produce a nice quality print: inkjet inks and media and substrates of all kinds.

Almost every distributor at SIGN Istanbul 2018 has an ink brand in their booth. Many international brands were in exhibition, such as Frimpeks, Gal-axy, J-Teck, Jetbest, KIIAN, Nazdar, Papijet, Print-Rite, etc.



There were many ink types at the expo: UV-cur-able, solvent, textile, screen-printing, to name a few.

It was really curious to see that there were no ink manufacturer booths, it was a trend to see the big ink brands in several different distributor booths, and often in the same booth as other brands.

It was also nice to see many OEM inks here, so people could choose form original inks or these, according to their needs.



Media & Substrates



Media and Substrates

When you speak of media and substrates, there is a world of possibilities, the variety is huge and there lots of options to choose from.

At SIGN Istanbul you can find anything you need, the all media and substrate markets were cov-ered here.



Adhesive material, aluminum composite, cut vinyl, decal, honeycomb, one-way vision, photographic paper, PVC, reflective material, textile, transfer pa-per, vinyl; these are examples of the many media and substrates at SIGN Istanbul 2018.





CNC Routers



CNC Routers

Computer Numerical Control (CNC) routers come in all shapes and sizes. At SIGN Istanbul we found many mid and large size CNC routers. Out of the tons of CNC routers three types stood out: digital CNCs, laser CNC and plasma CNC.

The number of applications you can produce us-ing a CNC router is huge and very diverse.

On this page you can see a nicely carved piece of wood resembling a family coat of arms. At the right, you can also see cut-out letters, and an acrylic mini Eiffel Tower replica.



Laser CNC router applications were quite fantas-tic at SIGN Istanbul.

On this page, an cut and assembled wooden house with lights on the inside, a very beautiful application.

On the right side of the page, you can appreciate a laser engraved Aztec circular structure.



Here you can see the different types and sizes of CNC routers exhibited at the SIGN Istanbul 2018 expo.



Cutters



Cutters and Trimmers

Roll-to-roll cutters and trimmers were also pres-ent at SIGN Istanbul 2018, so you can easily cut your prints afterwards.

Here you can see print-and-cut solvent printers, with these you can do both at the once and save time.



Laminators



Laminators

Another finishing equipment essential are lam-inators, at SIGN Istanbul roll-to-roll laminators were on display in many distributor booths.



In conclusion, SIGN Istanbul is a trade show worth visiting; here you can find the major brands and models in the industry (printer, inks, media, finishing equipment, etc.) plus examples of many applications and products for trending and rising markets.
