AN INLAND TRAINING SOLUTIONThe NAUTIS Inland Simulators allow for a wide range of training options for inland vessel manoeuvring, handling and navigation. The simulators include an easy to use set of instructor tools to prepare and control manoeuvring exercises, inland operations and ship manoeuvring parameters. The simulator provides a compact yet natural look and feel for realistic inland training.

VSTEP offers integrated simulator solutions combining the NAUTIS Inland Simulator software with different hardware configurations, to suit your budget in accordance with your training and certification requirements:

DESKTOP PROFESSIONAL PREMIUM

The Premium Inland Simulator was developed based on the requirements of the CCNR (Central Commission for the Navigation of the Rhine). The simulator is the advanced solution for realistic virtual training on board of an actual inland ship bridge replica.

The Desktop and Professional Inland Simulators are scaled down versions of the Premium version. They use the same vessel dynamics, outside view software and include the most important navigation displays, a type approved river radar and Inland ECDIS. The ship controls for Desktop and Professional are delivered in a metal box, which fits into the console, for easy installation and exchange for alternative propulsion types. The default controls are for a dual conventional propulsion with reversible gearbox and a 360-degrees bow-thruster.

The NAUTIS Inland Simulators include groundbreaking features guaranteeing a realistic simulation experience:

• Realistic trainee and target ship types in accordance with requirements for the CCNR Practical Examination and the Dutch CCV Radarpatent Examination.

• Wheelhouse configuration in compliance with one-man operation requirements as stated in the Rhine Vessel Inspection Regulations (RVIR).

• Wheelhouse height adjustable by trainee with dynamic collision, wind and stability model.• Multi-Functional touch panels meeting functional requirements as stated in RVIR e.g. for conning including

blue sign, navigation and ADN lights, sound signals, engine/machinery and fire alarms, Inland AIS etc.• Control instruments such as RiverPilot, steering levers, engine telegraphs for reversible gearbox,

360-degrees bowthruster and foot-pedal switches based on inland industry standards.• Type-approved River RADAR, instructor controlled scanner selection (fwd/aft) and adjustable scanner

revolutions for normal and fast ship simulation.• RADAR simulation replicates realistic signal behavior and limitations such as pulse length, false echoes,

rain, snow, waves, shadow casting depending on water level and scanner height.• Instructor controlled loading conditions of the vessel during a session such as dynamic visual, stability and

sailing characteristics related to actual loading conditions.• Instructor controlled and automatic 3D current simulation and wind interaction. • Realistic interaction effects such as squat effect, bank effect and ship interaction effects using live two-way

fluid dynamics calculations.• Full 3D water reflection and shadow casting for ultimate depth perception during manoeuvring.• Multi-trainee session and Parallel-trainee session modes.• Recording and playback for debriefing of entire training sessions.

ADDITIONAL TRAINING OPTIONIt is possible to integrate the RescueSim Maritime System together with the NAUTIS Inland Simulation System. This allows for additional shipboard fire fighting and incidents training in compliance with the STCW Advanced Fire Fighting courses.

NAUTIS INSTRUCTOR STATION - TOTAL CONTROL AT YOUR FINGERTIPS

An Instructor Station is a mandatory element of CCNR compliant simulators and forms a key element for Inland Navigation Education and Training Simulator courses to meet the Standards of Training and Certification in Inland Navigation (STCIN). The Instructor Station allows the instructor to follow the trainee’s decisions and actions in detail during each training session and includes an after action review and assessment. Different Instructor Station configurations are available for integration, for more information please contact one of our VSTEP account managers.
