Reusable trash are often neglected and thrown away like regular garbage .The

examples are plastic, electronic waste, clothes, seeds, furniture, vessels and utensils

etc. Some of these materials like plastic are highly dangerous for the planet and

need to be reused. Even if there are reusable shops most people are lazy to find

them or they are pretty far from destination.

The aim of this application is to reduce the work of users by providing them with a

user friendly interface through which the reusable waste can be linked to the

employees of different social organisations through which they will be able dispose

their waste in an eco-friendly way at their doorstep.

Implementation: `This projected is implemented using android studio, which uses

java-programming language. Java programming is used mainly in the back-end part

Detection of Speed Breaker and Speed Reduction Using IoT. Ankit Mishra

1MJ15CS705, Rahul Kumar 1MJ15CS725, Amandeep Singh 1MJ15CS703

Every year accidents happen on Indian roads and 60% are because of irregularities

on the Indian roads , out of all the speed breakers on Indian roads 92% are

unmarked which makes it difficult for the driver to notice it and stop the vehicle on

time, which lead to serious injuries and in many cases deaths. In 2017, a whopping

1.47 lakh people died in road deaths in India, which is equivalent of the population of

Shillong. In 2018, the number of fatalities remained almost the same with a minor

drop of 1.6%.

Here we are implementing a Speed breaker detection and Speed reduction system

on a test vehicle, in which we will show the implementation of such a system, and it

may be possible to implement it on a full scale with the same technology and

components. A camera will be fitted on a Raspberry-Pi module which will be

responsible for detection of the Speed breaker and sending the appropriate signals

using I2C protocol. When the Motor driver will receive hump positive signal it will

reduce the motor rotations to 40 RPM. The Arduino module is responsible for the

movement of the vehicle and controls the vehicle motors. The signals to control the

vehicle will be send through and app which will be user controlled to a Bluetooth

module fitted on the vehicle, which will be sent to the Motor driver

CIBO - The Smart Canteen app. Megha K 1MJ16EC063, R Nikhila 1MJEC084,

Chetan 1MJ16CS034, Deesun 1MJ16CS043, Aishwarya 1MJIS058

It is often observed in colleges that the canteens are completely filled with students

and teachers during the breaks. Ordering food becomes a big problem as the token

system/manual system might lead to a long queue, pushing, quarrels eventually

delay in the arrival of the order. In order to avoid this, we have come up with a

solution where we are developing an app in which the food is pre-ordered and then

the money can be paid online through a payment gateway.

The orders can be placed by them 2 hours prior. The canteen members can take a

count on the number of orders placed for the particular item and can start making

them 10 mins prior. In this way, it shall stay hot and can even save some good time.

This app will be beneficial to the customers as well as the canteen managers to

manage customers' interest as well as their quality of service, .this also reduces the

wastage of food which will reduce the loss to the canteen managers.

relay circuitry and buzzers are interfaced with Arduino Uno. This will perform some task like the alarm notification and switching off the car power source. Another measure to prevent accidents is blind curve alert system. This method is very useful in mountains bends and U turnings situations. With this system, we can alert the driver through LED signals to know that the vehicle is arriving the turn or blind spot. In this system, a simple cost effective Ultrasonic range finder sensor is used as a transmitter and receiver. Installing range detecting sensors at appropriate location & interfacing with a microcontroller can alert the vehicles on each side of intersection. The entire system is placed at the pole of the corner of any turning or intersection with two ultrasonic range finder sensors to their respective turning located phases. The major hardware components used in model are PIC 16F73 Microcontroller, Ultrasonic range finder SR-04, Tarang F4 Module (transmitter & receiver), Indicator LED’s, 230/12 Volt step down Transformer, 5 Volt RPS and 16x2 LCD unit. It will significantly reduce accidents occurring thus saving lives and promoting safe and happy journey. Li-Fi Based Vehicle Positioning System and V2V Communication. Ankush G

1MJ15TE006, Harshitha N 1MJ15TE015, Pooja Huddar 1MJ15TE036, Thrupthi U K Shetty 1MJ15TE050. The latest technology on wireless optical network called Li-Fi has been developing from past few years. Li-Fi called light fidelity uses a light-emitting diodes (LEDs) for data transmission. Using the concept of Li-Fi, vehicles can be tracked and also communicate with each other using LEDs and a receiver circuit. Vehicle to Vehicle communication(V2V) is an intelligent transportation system. Using Li-Fi system, it is possible to communicate among vehicles in order to avoid accidents. In this paper Li-Fi technology is used for tracking of vehicles. LEDs are used in the street lights as a transmitting source, where each LED has an identification code that are transmitted and are received by the receiver module present in the vehicles. Li-Fi technology works on simple data principle, that is when LED is ON a digital data 1 is transmitted and if it is OFF digital data 0 is transmitted. The receiving circuit consists of a solar panel and an amplifier to recover back the original input signal.

Solar Portable Water Purifier. Harsha A 1MJ16EE017, Dheemanth KP

1MJ16EE013, Shrithi Ramesh 1MJ16EE033, Yashwanth DL 1MJ15EE047

The lack of clean drinking water is the problem that plagues many areas of the world today. Long term storage of water in plastic bottle, leads to adulteration due to the release of chemical substance 'Bisphenol A(BPA)', which leach into the water. This causes health issues, which has to be avoided. Most of the current technologies available to combat this problem, are expensive and consume too much of power. The variation in the contamination of water at different places during excursions is inevitable. The use of chemical processing mechanisms of purification is an affordable solution, but it has known to be hazardous if used improperly. With the idea of low cost and sustainability in mind, we plan to develop a water filtration system that will use natural energy in order to power the purification system. It's a affordable purifier to all the classes of people. The portable specifications of purifier

allows the user to it at any place, even carry it. This product is a boon to the travellers, since it's going to be attached in cars and bikes. By using food grade plastic, it ensures water is safe to drink. Water will enter the system, where it will flow through the 3 carbon filters, which then passes through a high pressure pump and RO system, and then processed by a UV purifier. As the power supply alternative of solar, as battery can be used. The purification process uses UV lamp of 11 watt and also has UV fail alarms, which ensure certain purification. We plan to use photovoltaic technology to transfer sun ray into electric potential that will be stored in a battery back-up system will power the UV purification process of the system. It requires a power input of 12V which is given either by solar battery or car battery. The unused water which is produced from the filter is redirected to windshield wiper reservoir parts in case of cars and is used for cleaning body part of the same, in case of bike unused water is stored in a separate reservoir which can be used to clean bike and wash hands.

The project is an automated rover equipped with camera and an array of various sensors which will analyse the conditions. The rover is programmed to navigate to the farm or yard in equal time intervals and collect the data. To make it energy sustainable it will be equipped with solar panels and rechargeable battery. Each plant is tagged using RFID system which enables the rover to identify the sapling identification number and log all the details regarding the particular sapling for further processing. The system is capable of analysing the health condition of the plant sapling by scrutiny of its physical features. In the prototype that has been developed includes a Bluetooth controlled rover which uses an Arduino MEGA 2560 microcontroller which is hooked up to a HC-05 BT module. The signals are fed into L298 motor driver which engages the motors. The Pi-camera module is connected onto a Raspberry Pi 3B board which is also interfaced with soil moisture sensor. The raspberry Pi implements computer vision algorithms on the image feed to have a preliminary assessment of the sapling, if it finds any abnormality it escalates the image feed to deep learning model which performs advanced analysis of the image and reverts the analysis report to the system. All these processed data is sent into a local server or cloud based server. These data sets are visualised for ease of access and understanding of the analysed data or information.

We are displaying a project on speed drop voltage pop. It's basically a project which

can be installed under roads before construction of speed breakers. Unique

technology of rack and pinion arrangement is used to convert the pressure energy to

electrical energy using generator. When the vehicle moves on the speed breaker it

pushes the plates whose translational motion is converted to rotational by using rack

and pinion arrangement, which is then fed to shaft of the motor, which is converted

to electrical energy using a generator.

Multi-Functional Ai Assisted Drone For Emergencies – eMAD Arjun Anand 1MJ15ME018, Aswanth S 1MJ15ME021, Aravind M 1MJ14ME021, Ganesh Rao 1MJ15ME045 Any kind of emergency or natural disasters cannot be easy and precisely predicted. The only caution possible is to be well prepared to face that kind of adverse situation and to ensure effective rescue and support operations. In case of Floods, Earthquakes, etc., identifying people trapped in buildings is of a major concern. eMAD (Multifunctional AI Assisted Drone for Emergencies) aims to facilitate this issue with and without the assistance of skilled RC(Radio Control) Pilots. eMAD is a multifunctional drone which is capable of indoor auto piloting with features of live feed and human detection. The hand gesture control is incorporated in the model to support unskilled pilots. The applications of Image processing and Face recognition have been adopted with IOT (Internet of things) to make the system more efficient, which will also be supported with a follow me feature. eMAD is incorporated with a live feed system for identifying or detecting presence of human being assisted by various sensors and other artificial intelligence algorithms. Any skilled/unskilled person just with hand movements can operate it. For fast operation during threats, in order to recognize or detect people and objects from crowd, the feature of image processing and face recognition is used. It also has follow me feature which can be used during emergency. In case of natural calamities like floods, earthquakes, cyclones, etc., it is necessary to be prepared with safety measures for escape and rescue. Main objective of the research work is to design a multifunctional drone eMAD, which will play a vital role in the rescue operations during disasters.

The project on Hybrid Bicycle mainly focusses on energy conservation and to reduce

pollution. The Hybrid Bicycle system consists of a light weight and compact hub

motor in the front wheel which is powered from a lithium-ion/SMF (sealed

maintenance free) lead acid battery. Three different ways of charging the battery are

incorporated: the 220V AC wall outlet, energy from IC engine, and regenerative

braking. The Hybrid Bicycle enables substantially longer distance power assisted

cycling by regenerating power from IC engine and through alternator and charging it

in the battery.

A hybrid bike has been developed, along with a switching control

methodology to address electrical switching between engine and motor power to

achieve smooth power transmission to the wheels, thus reducing fuel consumption.

A conventional sequential-based switching control is developed to operate the

system with a motor at low speeds and the engine at higher speeds, using the

Automated Cellular Concrete Pouring and Compaction. Mallikarjun T A

1MJ16CV028, NIKHIL P S 1MJ16CV038, DHANARAJ M B 1MJ16CV012, Devappa

1MJ16CV011, Praveen M 1MJ14CV055

In the construction of RCC structure the series of work are done like batching,

mixing, transporting, pouring and compacting of concrete and cutting , bar bending

for reinforcement and finally finishing and curing. But automation in this field had

come up-to pumping of concrete by the introduction of RMC plant and transit mixers.

Until now concrete pouring and compaction for an RCC structure is done manually.

But it takes lot of time and also we require skilled labors, as they are not available as

per need we are not achieving accuracy in construction. Compaction of concrete is

an important component in the process of laying a concrete structure. Compaction is

a process which expels entrapped air from freshly placed concrete and packs the

aggregate particles of the concrete mix together, increasing the density of the

concrete. If compaction is not carried out as required, a series of defects may

become apparent and the concrete structure will suffer from significant loss of

strength. We are making the whole process of laying concrete and its compaction to

automated system. This may help us in saving time and also it doesn't require more

skill labors hence we can also achieve cost effective and since it is automatically

programmed the accuracy will be more. In this setup the compacters are combined

with the hose pipe of concrete pump. The concrete is poured through hose pipe to a

given point and it proceeded by compaction through needle compacters for a certain

period of time for the given area and it is continued further for every place in the

RCC structure. The whole setup is supported by the frame structure, which will be

accessible in all the three axis. This will be monitored through manual or through

software which makes our work still easier.

Hybrid Table. Sairus Bhattacharjee 1MJ17ME119, Diksha Kudrawal 1MJ17CS050

We've come up with a hybrid table that mounts on the wall and can act as a chair with all amenities like charging port, led light for reading etc. And can turn into a chair-table with a side hand rest. Our project aims to solve the problem of space constraint providing an all in one solution.

Bamboo Reinforced Mud Concrete. Nikhil K S-1MJ16CV037, Sanjay BS, Eshwar R As civil engineers we are concerned with naturally and locally available materials for the use of construction we thought of replacing Steel by Bamboo as a reinforcement due to some of the best properties of Bamboo such as tensile strength, high strength to weight ratio ,naturally obtained due to its stem cutting property (faster growth) & then cement concrete by Mud concrete to reduce the Carbon footprint.

Also, we replace burnt bricks &cement concrete blocks by Stabilized Mud block which is cost effective & also sustainable and can be designed to get required strength. National Bamboo Mission by Government of India is promoting use of bamboo in construction. Tests were conducted on bamboo and mud concrete at the MVJCE laboratories and successful results have been obtained & further development of the project is in progress. We have reduced the cost of construction by using locally available materials.

Underground Waste Disposal. Parisheeth K 1MJ16CV040, Mohd Salauddin 1MJ17CV411, Rajeshwari M S1MJ16CV048, Pooja C K 1MJ16CV041 This is the process which takes place below the soil surface without human interaction. In this process we are creating three different containers for crushing, decaying and melting process. Initially separation process is carried outside the container then we are going to pore into containers based on materials. Below the ground we are placing Conveyor belt through which material passes and crushing, melting and decaying process is carried out. Then these materials are transfer to
