APPLIED EM is a pioneer in innovative compact antenna designs forcommercial and defense applications. In collaboration withuniversities and industry partners, Applied EM specializes indeveloping small form factor antennas that reliably perform inrelatively low VHF/UHF frequencies. Applied EM’s product lineincludes state of the art compact broadband antennas that cover100MHz to 18GHz, compact direction finding antennas for VHF/UHFbands and compact GPS/Anti-Jam GPS antennas. Applied EM alsodeveloped novel “paint-on” antenna technology for conformalapplications. Custom designs are available for OEM production.Applied EM also develops innovative electromagnetic simulation toolsusing asymptotic computational techniques.

Unless your platform has an Anti‐Jam GPS antenna, onesimple, easy to make, high‐power jammer can wipe outyour navigation system. Most Anti‐Jam GPS antennas arehuge and have high cross‐coupling between ports. AppliedEM’s antennas fit standard antenna footprints while givingconfigurable radiation patterns to mitigate multiple GPSjammers.

Why Paint‐on‐Antennas ?
Applied EM can paint these antennas on a panel that isinstalled on your platform or directly onto your platformusing our proprietary Robotic Painting Process.
Conductive Paint is applied to a Fiberglass or PaintedSubstrate and also attached to a connector to make thesepractically weightless and “No‐Profile” antennas.

Why Are Compact Broadband Antennas so Important?
Most antennas are cheap, whip or blade antennas that onlycover one or two frequency bands. This means you needmore antennas, more platform space, more weight, antennacross‐coupling planning, and your platform to look like aporcupine just to do the same thing as what you can do withone Applied EM antenna.
An aircraft designed to fly at 20,000 feet can have the same RF performance at ~22,440 feet using an antenna with only 1 dB higher gain.
Circularly polarized antennas can also communicate with whip, blade, or other linearly polarized antennas with only about 3 dB of lower gain.
