Absence Policy
• Students have the number of days absent to make up the work that was missed.
• Students take responsibility to pick up handouts and discuss with teacher what they need to complete and turn in.
• Please avoid non-illness absences whenever possible.
Grading Policy
• 30 % Classwork – activities, walk-in work, participation, notebook, homework.
• 70% Assessments - Tests, quizzes, exit tickets, projects.
There will be no extra credit
Grading policies are such that your student will have plenty of
opportunities to make up for grades they are not happy with.
Homework
• Study/interact with notes
• Prepare for tests
• Reinforcement of standards covered in class (Carnegie workbook)
• Projects are extensions of topics in class, designed to be hands-on or reflective.

Middle-schoolers have the opportunity to participate in a 3 day educational program!
• Aspen Creek Outdoor School(Science Camp)
• The Aspen Creek Outdoor School (ACOS) is a residential outdoor program at Chapel Rock Camp in Prescott, AZ, that works with 5th to 8th grade students from around the state.
• 6th graders will be participating in the Outdoor School.
• 7th graders will be participating in the LEAD program.
Student will be staying in cabins and participating in three days of science/nature-based activities.
