Barbara’s employer creates an HRA for eligible employees and contributes $500 to every account.

Automatically receive a debit card linked to your HRA
Use it at point-of-sale or point-of-service
Save your receipts or other documentation
Certain claims do not require you to submit receipts, including:
• Costs at providers that match your co-pay amount or a multiple up to five times that amount
• Orthodontists (as part of a monthly schedule)
Other uses require you to submit receipts to substantiate the claim was used for eligible expenses

No. Funds belong to your employer and stay with the company, including accumulated funds. Employer decides what will happen to excess funds if you retire.
