Brothers —
We have a great council and hard workers. Sometimes during the various events we sponsor we understandably get a little stressed. We shouldn’t let that stress spread as it can be con-tagious and cause friction among us, after all, we are brothers in Christ. Would He like to see us fall apart? No, I don’t be-lieve so. So let us continue to be sensitive to each other’s feelings, give more “pats on the back”, “thank you”, and “smiles”. I bring this up not as a problem but rather as a reminder, a re-minder that every organization can use periodically. You guys are great and making my time as GK meaningful. May GOD bless all of you.
Viva Cristo Rey,
Ken

“Reach Out and Invite Them” We Have a Moral Obligation!
Quote: “Time and again, I have stressed that we have nothing less than a moral obli-
gation to offer membership in the Knights of Columbus to every eligible Catholic
man. To accomplish this, I am asking dedicated brother Knights like you to be ambas-
sadors, to reach out to Catholic men and their families and invite them to become part
of our Order. Duties of a Proposer: The Servant of God Father Michael J. McGivney
founded our Order more than 120 years ago, and yet we have only just begun to real-
ize our true potential. New members are essential to our success; the Order’s tomor-
row depends on our recruitment today!
Our Goal:
Offer every Catholic gentleman the opportunity to be-
come a Knight!

O Lord Jesus Christ, Supreme Pastor of Your Church, we thank you for the ministry of Pope Bene-dict XVI and the selfless care with which he has led us as Successor of Peter, and Your Vicar on earth.
Good Shepherd, who founded Your Church on the rock of Peter’s faith and have never left Your flock
untended, look with love upon us now in faith, hope, love, and charity.
Grant, Lord Jesus, in Your boundless love for us, a new Pope for Your Church who will please You by
his holiness and led us faithfully to You, who are the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Amen.

Greg Lutz of Lutz Woodworks, LLC, is the new chair-
man of the Wylie Chamber of Commerce. Lutz is a
leader in whom service to the community is ingrained
as surely as the pattern in the wood with which his
family worked for years.
“I guess our family has always seen the benefit of be-
ing a chamber of commerce member” he said. “My
mother (Betty) was a board member of the Wylie
chamber during the time she owned a business in
downtown. Once
we started Lutz
Woodworks, we joined the chamber and are
very proud to associate with local business.”
Lutz, a Marine Corps veteran of Operation
Desert Storm, started the family woodwork-
ing business with his father Charles while
still in high school, performing home repair,
remodel and new construction of small resi-
dential projects. Upon his return from the
Marine Corps, they focused on commercial architectural millwork and casework.
A charter member of Council 12300, he is active in the community, serving as a
director on the Wylie Northeast Special Utility District. In addition, he is active in
the woodworking industry at both the state and national levels.
He’s optimistic about the future of business in Wylie. “I am optimistic that 2013
will continue with steady-to-improving eco-
nomic growth. Business owners and manag-
ers will continue to be challenged to find
ways to grow, yet those opportunities to do so
will present themselves. This will bring good
things to the community with regard to com-
munity growth, networking, and activity for
the entire family.”
