Shaping the Future...
The Centre for the promotion of Imports from developing countries (CBI) is an agency of the ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands. Since 1971 CBI has contributed to equi-table economic development of selected developing countries by providing export marketing and management support to their SME exporters and Business Support Organizations with the purpose of increasing exports to Europe.
CBI's mission is to contribute to sustainable economic development in developing countries through the expansion of exports from these countries. Over the last 40 years, CBI has opened the doors of European trade to thousands of exporters in developing countries. CBI offers a needs-driven approach to both exporters as well as their business support organizations (BSOs) and governmental authorities. CBI focuses on the link between producing exporters & European buyers. CBI contrib-utes to strengthening the competitive position of exporters sustainably, assisting them in trading on the European markets.

ISLAMABAD: Industrialist and
economist Mirza Ikhtiar Baig
termed WTO's duty free access to
75 Pakistani products in EU markets
as the government of Pakistan's
great achievement. Talking to a
private news channel, he said WTO
granted this facility to Pakistan for
two years, which may be extended
for further one year and Pakistan
may export its additional products
worth of 300 million euro annually.
Replying to a question, he said
WTO's step will help Pakistan to
boost its export especially textiles to
encourage new investment, besides
generation of new jobs in the
country. Senator Haji Ghulam Ali,
president Federal Chamber of
Commerce and Industries also said
that WTO's decision to give Paki-
stani products duty free access to
EU countries will help enhance
Pakistani exports and will open new
venues in EU for our exporters. He
said India withdrew its objection on
the issue, which conveyed a good
message of friendship between the
two countries (Sat 4th Feb 2012)

Alsons team participated in training session on uplifting service by Ron Kaufman at Sheraton.
For over two decades UP! Your Service Founder and Chairman Ron Kaufman has helped companies on every continent build a culture of uplifting service that delivers real business results year after year. Making transformation his mission, Ron is one of the world’s most sought-after educators, consultants, thought-leaders and customer service speakers in achieving superior service.
Any business can say the customer is king, and many spend a lot of time and money on incremental service improvement. But Ron understands the only reliable way for a company to achieve and maintain a competitive edge is to build a culture that empowers every employee to surprise and delight customers and colleagues with truly uplifting service.
He delivers powerful insights and global best practices enabling organizations to gain a sustainable advantage through service.
Some of the Action Steps Recommended by Ron Kaufman
“Review every point of customer contact. Start with your products & systems. Identify everything that is obsolete, incorrect, difficult to read, hard to use, confusing or just plain ugly. Choose the worse and make it better.
Next, examine your people. Find those who are slow, late, uncaring, unpleasant, unmoti-vated, impatient or just plain rude. Teach them, train them, coach them, motivate them, reward them, encourage them, inspire them. But if all that doesn’t work, then just let them go.
Finally, examine yourself. Where are you late, Sloppy, inefficient, ineffective or incomplete? Pick one area you can improve this month and take action you need to improve it. “
“Identify which of your staff
are most constructive & helpful in bringing new plans to light. Tell them how much you appreciate their efforts & support. You will find you get even more. Don’t ignore the tough nuts, just don’t give them any more attention than they require. In time they will join the successful crowd, or they will leave. In which case, let them go.”
