On Wednesday June 5, Big Meadows held a baby shower for Lacy, one of our nurses, for the birth of her twins, Henry and Caydence.

On June 14th, a group of Big Meadows residents once again went on the Celebration Boat Cruise in Moline. This year’s group included: (from left to right) Ruth Sturtevant, Terry Mattison, Marlene Farrey, Violet Merryman, and Janet Spoerl.

Coupon Club– Coupons for the Troops
These were our latest shipment of
coupons for the troops.
On June 14th, Big Meadows had a surprise 25th anniversary party for Royce Kleckner, from our laundry department.
On May 29th, Heirloom Market in Thomson, donated starter plants to Big Meadows residents. Below are pictures of our residents with Ron Abbot from Heirloom Market, Jaime Zastrow and Ben Reibel.
During the evening of June 13, Big Meadows held their Men’s Appreciation Meal for all the men of Big Meadows and their families. The theme this year was different ties.

Our monthly grief support meeting will be held Thursday July 18th at noon in our chapel. If you would like to attend please call Stan at (815) 273-2238 to RSVP. Free lunch will be provided.
On July 10th our monthly community coffee will be held and during which we will be honoring all of our Veteran’s who have helped preserve our
independence.
On July 3rd at dusk
Savanna will be having their annual fireworks display and residents will be able to watch them in the front parking lot. Families and friends are invited to come enjoy the fireworks while enjoying free cool refreshments.
On July 25th, we will be celebrating Christmas in
July with a social and every resident will
receive a small white elephant gift. If you have
any unwanted knick knacks, costume jewelry, hats, and other items that you feel the residents would enjoy

On July 9th our monthly birthday party will be held with Dallas Stamberger as entertainment. Decorated sugar cookies will be served in honor of National Sugar Cookie Day.
On Tuesday June 25th, we had a visit from the Furry Friends Traveling Petting Zoo. Pictured above is: (1) Our residents seeing the alpaca; (2) Dennis Rose with the small dog; (3) Janet Spoerl with the guinea pig; (4) Mae Robbe with Cody the dog; (5) and Phyllis Young with the duck. Everyone at Big Meadows looks forward to the visit from Furry Friends, and we cannot wait until they visit again.
