At UCLA, this rule applies to all sports except football and men’s and women’s basketball. The change is part of a movement to slow the recruiting process and the practice of early recruitment. One goal of the new rule is to allow recruits to make a well-informed college decision closer to the time when most high school students are doing the same. Individuals may still participate in the following on-campus activities prior to the start of 11th grade: • Attend UCLA camps and clinics. • Visit campus on their own and attend games at their own expense as long as there is no involvement by the Athletic Department and no contact with UCLA coaches or staff. • Attend UCLA events as part of a group, club or team unrelated to athletics recruitment. Questions about these new recruiting limitations or other NCAA rules? Please contact Dan Goldberg, Assistant Athletic Director Compliance & Recruiting, at (310) 794-8813 or [email protected]. The ongoing patience needed while going through obstacles in life in much easier when you have people that truly care about your well-being around you. Attending the greatest university in the world does come with some pressure, but with the support of loved ones, professors, coaching staff, and even the donors it feels like you can accomplish anything. These once in a lifetime experiences I will forever be grateful for and none of this would be possible without the support of our dedicated donors. UCLA has been one of the greatest blessings I have received in my short lifetime and I am honored to represent the Bruins as a part of the Men's Soccer Team. I cannot wait to play in our brand new stadium which we believe will bring us an extra edge and success for the program. This could not have been done without our generous donors.CLICK HERE TO SEE OUR UCLA ATHLETICS DEVELOPMENT STAFF What is your favorite part of the game day experience for UCLA Football at the Rose Bowl? Nathan Anderson: My favorite game day experience is the sideline experience. Being able to host our donors and fans on the Rose Bowl field watching the Bruins warm is by far the most rewarding part of my game day. And don’t tell the Rose Bowl field management team, but I always walk away with a few blades of that Kentucky Blue Grass!” Neema Barbod: “One of my favorite parts of Football game days are the fly overs. Our department has really done an amazing job getting some very unique airplanes and military participants for many of our home games the past couple years. My second favorite part would be when our Football team runs out of the Home team tunnel!! Love seeing the Bruins get the crowd excited for the game!” Gina Garrett: “The game itself! I like getting to the Rose Bowl hours and hours ahead of time to prep pregame events because it gets me closer to the best part of the day, which is kickoff!” Kat Lauer: “Hosting former UCLA Football players at the Then Now Forever tent is my favorite experience at the Rose Bowl. It is an honor and privilege to bring this alumni group together and be a part of creating new memories among former teammates on game day.” Emily Lerner: “My favorite part of football game day is when the football student-athletes walk through parts of the Rose Bowl and fans rush to the ropes to cheer them on.” Jill Machuca: “I love it when the team runs into the stadium following the American Flag.” Parker Poliakoff: “My favorite part of the game day experience for UCLA Football at the Rose Bowl is the energy and excitement of our fans. There is so much energy on game days for UCLA Football games with so many people cheering and tailgat- ing it is such a fun atmosphere to be around.” Josh Rebholz: “The greatest Tailgating on EARTH!” Zack Rosenfeld: “I like the moment when the team emerges from the tunnel and takes the field. Gets me fired up for kickoff!” Lydell Sargeant: “Honorary Captain. Love the opportunity we have as an Athletic Department to recognize the great men and women who have positively impacted UCLA Athletics and the entire UCLA community. Great seeing our honorary captains return with their families, surrounded by teammates and supporters as we recognize them for their greatness.” Brian Smith: “There’s nothing better than walking around the parking lots before the game and seeing all the UCLA fans tailgating at the Rose Bowl. There’s great food, great beverages and families tossing the football as they gear up to cheer on the Bruins to victory.” Taylor Swearingen: “My favorite part of the game day experience at the Rose Bowl is the tailgating. Whether it’s at one of our many hosted events in the UCLA Fan Zone or out on the beautiful golf course, I don’t think there’s a better place in America to gather with family and friends before a football game than at the Rose Bowl before a Bruin game.” GET TO KNOW YOUR WOODEN ATHLETIC FUND STAFF! NEW NCAA RULE LIMITS WHEN RECRUITS CAN VISIT CAMPUS

Under a new NCAA rule, recruits may not take unocial visits to UCLA or other Division I campuses to meet with coaches, tour athletic facilities or receive complimentary admissions to attend athletic events until September 1 of their junior year in high school. At UCLA, this rule applies to all sports except football and men’s and women’s basketball. The change is part of a movement to slow the recruiting process and the practice of early recruitment. One goal of the new rule is to allow recruits to make a well-informed college decision closer to the time when most high school students are doing the same. Individuals may still participate in the following on-campus activities prior to the start of 11th grade:

• Attend UCLA camps and clinics. • Visit campus on their own and attend games at their own expense as long as there is no involvement by the Athletic Department and no contact with UCLA coaches or sta.

“My time here at UCLA has been one full of growth; not only in terms of maturity, but also of establishing my identity as a student-athlete. The ongoing patience needed while going through obstacles in life in much easier when you have people that truly care about your well-being around you. Attending the greatest university in the world does come with some pressure, but with the support of loved ones, professors, coaching sta, and even the donors it feels like you can accomplish anything. This could not have been done without our generous donors.”

What is your favorite part of the game day experience for UCLA Football at the Rose Bowl?

Nathan Anderson: “My favorite game day experience is the sideline experience. Being able to host our donors and fans on the Rose Bowl field watching the Bruins warm is by far the most rewarding part of my game day. And don’t tell the Rose Bowl field management team, but I always walk away with a few blades of that Kentucky Blue Grass!”Neema Barbod: “One of my favorite parts of Football game days are the fly overs. Our department has really done an amazing job getting some very unique airplanes and military participants for many of our home games the past couple years. My second favorite part would be when our Football team runs out of the Home team tunnel!! Love seeing the Bruins get the crowd excited for the game!”Gina Garrett: “The game itself! I like getting to the Rose Bowl hours and hours ahead of time to prep pregame events because it gets me closer to the best part of the day, which is kicko!” Kat Lauer: “Hosting former UCLA Football players at the Then Now Forever tent is my favorite experience at the Rose Bowl. It is an honor and privilege to bring this alumni group together and be a part of creating new memories among former teammates on game day.”Emily Lerner: “My favorite part of football game day is when the football student-athletes walk through parts of the Rose Bowl and fans rush to the ropes to cheer them on.”Jill Machuca: “I love it when the team runs into the stadium following the American Flag.”Parker Poliako: “My favorite part of the game day experience for UCLA Football at the Rose Bowl is the energy and excitement of our fans. There is so much energy on game days for UCLA Football games with so many people cheering and tailgat-ing it is such a fun atmosphere to be around.” Josh Rebholz: “The greatest Tailgating on EARTH!” Zack Rosenfeld: “I like the moment when the team emerges from the tunnel and takes the field. Gets me fired up for kicko!”Lydell Sargeant: “Honorary Captain. Whether it’s at one of our many hosted events in the UCLA Fan Zone or out on the beautiful golf course, I don’t think there’s a better place in America to gather with family and friends before a football game than at the Rose Bowl before a Bruin game.”
