This booklet outlines all the clubs available this term. Please return booking sheet by MONDAY 17th December 2018, forms received after this date

are not guaranteed a place in ANY club.

We will do our best to accommodate your 1st choice but due to demand we may have to give you another choice or put your child on a waiting list.

If your child is not attending a club please let the office know – all children will be sent to their club unless a message is received especially if they walk home alone.

If your child no longer wishes to attend a club or would like to change clubs or join a club –please speak to Mrs Green – enrichment leader.

Failure to attend three club sessions may mean your child’s place is offered to someone on the waiting list!

Creative CurriculumCreative activities will help children to develop the following values:

To explore, investigate and experiment with a range of stimuli, techniques, approaches, materials and media

To create, design, devise their individual and collective work

To present and display work, to develop and communicate ideas and evoke responses

Use art-specific vocabulary to respond to, evaluate, explain, analyse, question their own and other peoples artistic works

To enable children to develop a wide range of skills through a variety of creative activities

To extend imagination through both knowledge and practical skills

To enable children opportunities to develop physical, intellectual, emotional and social skills through the exploration of various and/or specific mediums

Promote the development of technical knowledge and skills

Sport & Fitness

Sport & Fitness clubs will help children to develop the following values:

To enable children to develop a wide range of basic and ongoing knowledge and skills through a variety of sports and fitness activities.

To build confidence, self-expression & collaborative learning through the experience of team work

To build self-confidence and social skills through the development of associated physical skills and to play/work together co-operatively through group work

To enable pupils the opportunity to experience and share roles and responsibilities

To support self-esteem and help children to recognise their self-worth

Recognise physical and human resources during sporting activities

To provide opportunities for children to promote and represent the school to a wider audience

Curriculum ClubsCurriculum Clubs will help children to develop the following values:

To enable children to develop a wide range of skills through a variety of intellectual and challenging activities

To build self-confidence through the development and achievement of completing challenging, but fun tasks

To develop more able and talented children

Performing Arts Clubs

Performing Arts Clubs will help children to develop the following values:

To be confident when performing songs, dances & drama

To persevere when tasks are challenging

To have fun learning something new!

To develop hand-eye co-ordination, core strength and balance

To work as part of a team

To share ideas and feel confident when doing so

CREATIVE CURRICULUM CLUB

YEAR GROUP: 3 & 4CLUB LEADER: Mrs Nixon and Mrs VittaDAY/TIME: Wednesday 3.15pm – 4.15pm

Will you be the winner of the next Junior MasterChef?

Equip yourselves with the skills to plan and prepare a variety of snacks and meals, ensuring that your food is healthy, hygienic and you prepare your food safely.

Could you invent your own delicious recipe?


YEAR GROUP: Year 3 and 4CLUB LEADER: Miss Roberts & Miss WoottonDAY/TIME: Wednesday 3.15pm - 4.15pm

To understand primary colours and how colours can be produced from these. Use a range of techniques and mediums in both sketching and painting.

Let your imagination run wild! Experiment with patterns, textures, colour, shape, cutting, painting, sticking and folding to produce pieces of work to be proud of.


YEAR GROUP: Rec, 1, 2CLUB LEADER: Mrs Harker and Miss StefanovaDAY/TIME: Wednesday 3.15pm – 4.15pm

Join us for an hour of fun filled crafts.

We will be using different materials and different methods to make lots of fun and colourful things which you can take home when you have finished.

Let’s get the laptops out and challenge yourself!

How quickly can you improve? Go on an adventure with the cartoon characters and challenge yourself, whilst developing muscle tone, dexterity and accuracy with attention to detail!

Lets teach them the skills of the future!

Want to be able to prepare meals safely and hygienically yourself? Well this is the club that will give you the skills to do so!

Do you have a favourite meal or snack? Want to experiment with new recipes and try different foods? Then this is the club for you!


YEAR GROUP: Rec, Y1CLUB LEADER: Miss O’Donnell & Mrs SmithDAY/TIME: Thursday 3.15pm – 4.15pm

Love making, doing, painting, drawing and generally getting messy?

In this club you will build, make and paint. You will experiment with new art techniques that you don’t get chance to do in the classrooms.

What might we make? How crafty can we be? Might we be able to host our own craft stall, with personalised and hand-crafted gifts for all?

SPORT & FITNESS CLUB

Join Bee Active and learn the skills needed to be the next circus performer to entertain the crowds.

What will be your specialist skills be, balancing or juggling?

How will your circus act hold up?


YEAR GROUP: 4, 5 and 6CLUB LEADER: Bee ActiveDAY/TIME: Tuesday 3.15pm – 4.15pm

This non-contact support follows the basic principles of a traditional game of rugby!

Whose team will you be on? Will your team have the best formation to move forward and grab your opponents tag?

A sport for girls or boys, where competitive fun is had by all!


YEAR GROUP: 3 and 4CLUB LEADER: Mr DaviesDAY/TIME: Wednesday 3.15pm – 4.15pm

Want to enhance your footballing skills? Be part of a successful football team?

Week by week you will learn new skills . Playing as part of a team in cricket and learning the tactical skills needed in tennis.

This club will be outdoors and you will need your PE Kit


YEAR GROUP: Year 4 and 5CLUB LEADER: Miss Flaharty & Miss BrookesDAY/TIME: Wednesday 3.15pm – 4.45pm

Horse Riding will take place @ Poplars Farm Riding School in Meir Heath by minibus.You will need to wear tracksuit bottoms, legging, boots or wellies. Please make sure you have a coat and gloves.

During this session you will learn the skills needed to ride a horse.

You will be shown how to care for a horse and look after a stable.


YEAR GROUP: 2, 3, 4CLUB LEADER: BeeActiveDAY/TIME: Wednesday 3.15pm – 4.15pm

Join in and develop the skills needed to dodge the ball!

You will compete as part of a team to make sure that you don’t get hit by the ball. What will be your teams tactics to win be?


YEAR GROUP: 5 and 6CLUB LEADER: Mr Kinsey and Mrs BeechDAY/TIME: Wednesday 3.15pm – 4.30pm

Join the football club and learn the skills needed to play football including dribbling, passing and scoring goals.

Impress your friends by knowing the offside rule.

This club will take place outside and you will need your PE Kit, trainers and tracksuit bottoms


YEAR GROUP: 3 and 4CLUB LEADER: Mrs Faulkner-Poole & Mr SadlerDAY/TIME: Thursday 3.15pm – 4.30pm

Whatever your fitness favourite, you will be sure to practise a range of sports and games.

Whether they be personal challenges, invasion games, working as part of a team or performing a gym routine – let’s get active and sporty!

PERFORMING ARTS CLUB

YEAR GROUP: Year 3, 4, 5 and 6CLUB LEADER: Premier Performing ArtsDAY/TIME: Tuesday 3.15pm - 4.15pm

Join us to develop a range of skills and techniques in dance.

You will practice a range of different dance styles and choreograph routines in pairs and groups.

Join us for an hour of singing practice, not just traditional songs but also those of your favourite boy bands and girl bands!

Enjoy singing as part of a group and learn how to express yourself through music and song.

We will be practicing vocal techniques, singing acapella and performing songs along to a backing track.

Let’s make it to the New Victoria Theatre this year!!

What’s it all about??

The Children’s University is an International critically-acclaimed charity which encourages all children aged 5 to 14 years to try new experiences, develop new interests and acquire new skills through participation in innovative and creative Learning Activities outside of the school day.Learning Activities are designed to:• Raise aspirations, self-esteem & confidence• Encourage curiosity and a love of learning• Enhance motivation and build resilience• Introduce new life experiences• Offer progression in learning and personal skills development

In Year 1 children are issued with a ‘passport to learning’ which will be a record of the amount of hours spent in after school clubs. It is the learning hours (credits) achieved that lead to the award of a Children’s University Certificate. (Being a member of the children’s University costs us £5 each, so the passports are kept in school to avoid you having to pay for a replacement)

At Inspirational Learning Academies Trust children are awarded 10 credits each term for each after-school club they attend. They can also gain credits for educational visits, being on a class council e.g.: school council, visits to museum events, and activities they take part in out of school like swimming lessons, a football team or dance lessons (please let me know the details for these activities)

Children will receive certificates at our award assemblies each term. The certificate they achieve depend on the number of credits they have.
