“Study and Implementation of Mobile app & Evaluate app performance”
Introduction
Healthcare mobile apps are becoming a common thing in today's
world as many use smartphones and the healthcare organizations
want to provide maximum level of service by using the technology
that their consumers use. Even Davita has come up with the mobile
app for its renal patients who undergo dialysis, to remind them on
their appointment, access lab reports, providing health tips, etc. In
this context, this study was taken up to understand the issues and
challenges in Installation and usage of this mobile app.
1. To carry out the pre survey for mobile app requirements.
2. To study and observe the issues & challenges of in
implementation of Mobile app for the Kidney care patient of
Davita Healthcare and to observe the requirements of the
clinic & operations and the ways the requirements are met
while implementation.
3.To understand the app performance through the app
evaluation questionnaires.
Methodology
Methods
This study was designed to address the three aspects of Davita mobile app. In order to understand the features of this app with the other app in the industry, five top most apps for renal patients were considered for the study based on their reputation and wide-spread usability.
Due to its initial phase of implementation in Indian context, there was also a need to understand the issues and challenges for it used among its customer. Hence, this study was taken up to study the features of this application as well as the implementation issue.
And it’s also focus the App performance with respect of features, usability & acceptance. Few feedback questioner was sets for the patients for evaluating the app performance.

Findings
Base on the patients feedback it was found that, 72.72% patients are says, appointment notification is really
helpful.
72.27% patients are really appreciated with the lab features
68.18% Patient are comfortable to use Kidney care resources
50% patients share their views that, they are getting benefited
by help of Davita care giver. Davita care giver are available
24*7 for patients support.
Conclusion:
Average age group of Dialysis patients in Davita are geriatric,
they are not comfortable by using smart phone’s; modification
of the Davita app is required.
Davita can focus to reduce the size of the app.
Davita health care can developed a platform for Windows phone user.
Doctors & nurses also able to keep update them self-
regarding patient’s history by using Clinical portal.
Recommendation:
If patient can see Davita healthcare basic information & center
details with contact number in the app, will be useful for the
patients.
If Information regarding health insurance for the Davita
patients is Available in the app, should be useful.
If Davita can able to introduce more language in App, it would
be more attractive for the Indian patients.
Awareness & tanning required for the nurses regarding the
App because for patient’s engagement they can take major
role.

Issues & Challenges During Implementation Availability of Davita App is only Aperient store,
reaching the patients for installation is quiet difficult &
there is an limitation of data. Size of the Davita App is 63.19mb. Patients don’t have the smart phone. Average Age group of the Davita dialysis patients is 55-
65 and more than that, In Indian scenario they are little
uncomfortable by using smart phone. Mobile app is not compatible for Windows phone.
