Installing the Client Application
Download macOS application on your computer and start the installation process:
Choose “Applications”, and in the opened window with the applications, select “TrueConf.app”:

Authorizing in the Client Application
After you run the application, log in by connecting to TrueConf Online or TrueConf Server. To do this, go to “TrueConf” – “Sign in”:
Connecting to TrueConf Online Enter your username and password in the corresponding fields and click on “Login”. If you have not registered yet, select “Create New Account”.

You can log in to the application using social networks, such as Facebook, Google+, Twitter, VK.com, Yandex or Mail.ru.
Connecting to TrueConf Server
To connect to TrueConf Server click on “Change server”:
The “Network” page will open, where you will have to enter the address of your server and 4307 port. The string will look like this: 192.168.0.100:4307. Then click on “Connect”:

When the connection is established, enter your username and password using your server account in the window that opens. Your system administrator can help you authorize.
If after these actions you could not connect to the server, ask your system administrator for help (the server may have stopped and check your Internet connection).

Configuring and Working in the Application
After activation, in the application window you will see a couple of tabs that can help you to configure the application.
“TrueConf” Menu
This menu allows to:
сonfigure the preferences:
select and test equipment;
configure the application settings;
set sound notifications;
block users.
see the information about the sender and recipient;
change your profile details;
exit from the application.
“About” Section
In this menu you can find out about TrueConf company. In “About” section click on “TrueConf” link to go to our website, trueconf.com.
“Settings” Section
Here you can configure your equipment, network and sound.
“Hardware – General” Tab
This section allows to configure hardware equipment (cameras and microphone), as well as sound. For the application to work properly you need to test the equipment:

Select the webcam, speakers and microphone to use during the video
conference in the "Video", "Speakers" and "Microphone" tabs. Move the slider
to adjust speakers and microphone volume.
“Hardware – Application sounds” Tab
In this menu you can change sound notification settings. Check the boxes of the notifications you wish to activate:

“Network-General” Tab
In “Network-General” tab you can connect to TrueConf Online or to TrueConf Server. Check «Suppress direct connection» box to establish connection via the server and not directly:

“Network-Limits” Tab
Move slider to adjust input and output bitrates:

Click «Start test» to test data channel:

“Preferences-General” Tab
Set up automatic authorization and accept calls automatically:

“Preferences-Conference” Tab Set up video conference preferences: display names for conference participants, allow participants to take the podium, save self-view settings for video calls or group video conferences:

“Language” Tab
Select the application language in the drop-down list.
“System Info” Tab
You can find information about users, server, outgoing bitrate and incoming streams in the System Info section:

“File” Menu In this menu, users can do the following:
Change personal details in their account (first name, last name, company name, plan, avatar);
Sign out. “My Profile” Section
In this section, you can edit your profile: your first and last name, the name of the company for which you are working, your avatar. Click «Edit» to edit the profile, then click «Save» to save the changes:

“View” Menu
In this tab users can do the following:
go to the Address Book;
manage a group conference;
go to Chat; see Call history.
“Address Book” Section
This menu leads you to the Address book with the list of the users. To make a call to one of the users, make a left double-click on his name.
If a user calls you or sends you a message during the conference, you will see the notification signs opposite to this user in the Address Book (also red circles will be displayed at the bottom bar next to the chat and call history icons in the Address Book):

“Dialer” Section
To make calls to mobiles and landlines, use the «Dialer» menu located in the upper right corner of your Address Book:
Click dialer icon to open the contact list you can call them (if they specified their phone numbers when creating a profile). If want to call a user who is not in your address book, dial his number on the numpad and click «Call». Dialing will start:

“Search” Section
Use the Search menu to find the user from your address book quickly. The search mechanism will find the necessary user even if you enter the first three letters of the TrueConf ID / username:

After the user is found, you can call him/her, write a message or view his/her personal details.
“User Groups” Section
It is convenient to divide the users in your address book into groups. For example, employees from various departments can be placed into a single category. There may be several groups, e.g. «Marketing», «Sales», «Accounting» etc.
* You cannot invite the whole groups to the conference, but it is a convenient way to interact when they are divided into such categories.
To open the Groups menu, click the arrow icon in your Address Book:
In this menu you can:
• display all/online users in the Address Book; • display/collapse user groups in the Address Book; • display only one user group in the Address Book; • edit/create a group.
To create a new user group or edit an existing one, select “Groups editor”. You will enter this menu:

To create a new group, click “Create Group”, and to edit an already existing group, right-click the group. By doing it, you will activate the edit button:
Edit buttons (from left to right) allow you to do the following:
• change the group name; • add/delete participants; • delete a group.
“Conference Manager” Section
This section is only available to users during a conference. This menu allows you to:
• change the video layout (three types of layouts available); • use collaboration tools (chat, slide show and desktop sharing); • take a podium and make an audio remark (only available in role
conferences, “Broadcasting function” section):

The names of the participants of the current conference will be displayed in the “Participants List” section.
Tool bar
“Video Window Layout” Section
You can change the video layout during a group conference. All types of layouts are presented in the “Video window layout” section on the Toolbar:
— the selected user is displayed in full screen, all other participants
are hidden;
— enlarged window of the selected user, while all other
windows remain untouched;

— all windows are of the same size.
“Collaboration Tools” Section
By pressing the collaboration tools buttons, you will call up Chat, Slide Show or Screen Sharing.
Instant Messaging
To exchange text messages during a conference, click the chat icon
(chat is also available from the “View” menu). In the opened window, select a
user you would like to write a message to (online subscribers are listed first in
the Address Book):

Right-click on the participant’s name. You will see a chat icon to the left of his/her name, click the icon and start typing a message:
Click the “+” icon to send the files to the users from the chat window.

Chat is also available from the bottom menu of the Address Book.
Slide Show
To start slide show during a conference, click the Slide Show button on the
Tool bar (Slide Show is also available from the “Tools” menu). Click
the button to open a window with control buttons for slide shows:
- zoom in/zoom out a slide;
- add/delete/shuffle slides;
- switch a slide.

Content sharing
To start a desktop sharing session during a video conference, click the icon on
the Toolbar (desktop sharing tool is also available from the “Tools” menu). In this menu, you can select the following:
Capture Full Screen is a tool for sharing the entire screen of your PC. Capture Window Screen is the ability to share a particular
application window (e.g. Adope Photoshop);
Start Sharing start the sharing session;

During a desktop sharing session, a notification sign (a red circle) will be displayed to the right of the "Desktop Sharing" icon on the Toolbar in the “Conference Manager” menu:
* Notification signs will be always displayed next to the Chat, Slide Show and
Screen Sharing icons on the Toolbar during a Slide Show or a Desktop Sharing
session, or if a new text message has been received.
“Broadcasting Function” Section
This section is only displayed during a role conference (virtual meeting) and is unavailable in other video conferencing modes.
Capabilities:
- by clicking this button, you will send a request to take the
podium. While speaking, this icon will be crossed-out. Press
the icon to leave the podium.

- audio remark (3 seconds voice message during a
conference). Click this icon and say a phrase that will be
heard by all participants.
“Call History” Section
Arrows located to the right of the user's name may by of different color depending on the call type (lilac for an outgoing call, green for incoming one and red for a missed call):

“Tools” Menu
In this section you can do the following:
content sharing;
slide show;
calling phone.
How to Create a Multipoint Video Conference? To create a group conference, sign in to the client application and click the conference icon (at the bottom of the Address book):
Clicking this button opens a window where you can choose the type of a conference. In this case we should choose the conference type – symmetric, asymmetric, role-based:

The Address book will open. Select from the list of online users those you want to invite to the conference. To this, click once on the name of the necessary user. The selected users will become highlighted in blue. After selecting all participants, click “Create” to start a video conference:

Types of group conferences
Symmetric:
up to 36 participants;
all participants can hear and see each other.
Role-Based:
up to 250 participants;
6 speakers;
audio replies;
switching roles.
Asymmetric
up to 36 participants;
1 speaker.
