Installing ENA SSL Certificates
How ENA SSL Certificates are used in ENA NetShield UTM Prior to activating ENA NetShield UTM on your network, ENA will provide you with a URL link to download an ENA SSL certificate to be installed on each client on which you would like to deploy HTTPS inspection, application control, malware protection, and/or intrusion protection. Once the certificate is installed and a request to an HTTPS site is made from your network, ENA checks for the SSL certificate on the client and, if it finds it, accepts the SSL certificate from the secure site on your behalf. It then obtains the private key to decrypt the entire URL requested and matches it to the protections in your policy lists. This could include:
• Application Control policies: blocking, monitoring, or allowing specific application types
• Malware Protection: applying threat signatures to look for known malware strains
• Intrusion Protection: applying threat signatures to look for known intrusion methods
