Update Installation – MS-CIT Online Examination Software

Installing

MS-CIT Update



Download MS-CIT Software Update from MSBTE site under MS-CIT Section

once it is published.

MS-CIT Update

This update will have two .rar files viz. MS-CIT Documents.rar

and MS-CIT_Update_MMMYY.rar file.

Once these .rar files are downloaded on MS-CIT Online Examination

Server PC, copy MS-CIT Documents.rar to "Program Files" folder on the

drive where you have MS-CIT server application is installed (C: or D:).

Unrar MS-CIT_Update_MMMYY.rar file on Server PC desktop

which will give you:

• MSCIT_Update.Exe

• SharpCompress.dll

• IP_DLL.dll

Run the file “MSCIT_Update.Exe” to update MS-CIT

Server as well as MS-CIT Client PC.



Update screen

The new update screen has

two options:

Server Update

Client Update

MS-CIT Update

Henceforth MS-CIT Server

and MS-CIT Client PC will be

updated from MS-CIT server

PC itself.

For Server Update

Internet is required.

For Client Update

internet is not

required.

Before running the update

please make sure that you

have MS-CIT Online

Examination Server Software

is Installed on this PC.

Server Update

Let us run Server Update:

MS-CIT Update

Note: Before running server

update please see that you

have internet connectivity

with good speed on MS-CIT

Server PC

1. Select “Server Update”

2. Select “Install Update”

This way server will start

preparing for update.

A message to that effect

will be displayed.

Once update is ready to

install, it will ask whether to

install this update.

Select “Yes” to continue

installing update on MS-CIT

Server PC

Select “No” if you wish to

cancel the server updation.

Selecting “Yes” will start

installing the update.

Installation progress will be

indicated in the progress

bar.

Once installation is

complete, message of

successful installation will

be displayed.

Note: After update is installed

on Server PC, please check

the version of updated Server

Software mentioned in the

message.

This same version should be

mentioned in the title bar of

your MS-CIT Exam Software.

Do remember to read this and

install “Crystal Report” on your

Windows 7 MS-CIT Server PC

(if required).

You might get this error in

case of no internet

connectivity.

You get this message when

you try to install the update

again

Client Update

Let us run Client Update:

MS-CIT Update

Note: Before running Client

Update, you need to do

some setting on client PC.

Please click on “Help” button

to know more.

No Internet Connectivity is

required to run client update.

1. Select “Client Update”

On selecting “Client Update”

this Settings to be done on

client PC help will appear.

You need to make this

setting on every client

machine before you run this

update.

Select “Ok” to continue.

After doing the required

setting on client PC you can

continue installing Client

Update.

Select “Browse” to select

the client PC where you

wish to install Client Update.

1. Select the name of PC from

Network option where you

wish to install Client Update.

2. Select MS-CIT Online Exam

software folder from the

selected Client PC.

3. Select “Ok”.

be displayed in the

“Destination” area.

2. Select “Install Update” to

start installing update on

the selected client PC.

Note: If all the setting on the

client PC are done properly

installation on client PC will

begin.

Once installation is

complete on one client PC,

a message to that effect will

be displayed.

Note: After update is installed

on One Client PC, please

check the version of updated

Client Software mentioned in

the message.

This same version should be

mentioned in the title bar of

your MS-CIT Exam Software

on Client PC.

This way client installation is

to be done on all the Client

PC.

These steps are to be

repeated for all the MS-CIT

Client PC.

Note: Please check the MS-

CIT Client Version after

installation is done on each

and every MS-CIT Client

PC. All the MS-CIT Client PC

must have same version

which was shown in

installation confirmation

message.



Client Update (Error)

MS-CIT Update

In case Update fails to get

installed on MS-CIT Client

PC, you will be notified with

the message shown in the

screen shot.

You will need to see the

settings on MS-CIT Client

PC



Client Update (FilesCheck)

MS-CIT Update

Please check “FilesCheck”

folder available inside your

MS-CIT Client PC where MS-

CIT Client software is installed.

This folder contains support

files required while candidates

exam is going on.

In case this folder is missing or

contains older files kindly

update this folder by

downloading it from MSBTE

site under MS-CIT section

along with MS-CIT Update.

Simply replace the folder in

MS-CIT Client PC with the one

downloaded from the site.
