He has begun the Marsiliana d’Albegna Project in 2002; since 2009 he is carrying out the activity through the International Camp of Archaeological Research, in collaboration with the association Etruria Nova Onlus. In Zusammenarbeit mit Institut für Archäologien Fachbereich Ur‐ und Frühgeschichte sowie Mittelalter‐und Neuzeitarchäologie zum Gastvortrag von: Prof. Dr. Andrea Zifferero Einladung Occasional excavation carried out at Marsiliana d’Albegna in 1908 by the owner of the Marsiliana estate, prince Tommaso Corsini, has brought to the light one of the most remarkable Etruscan necropolis in the territory of Vulci. A new research project, promoted by the Soprintendenza per I Beni Archaeologici della Toscana with the scientific direction of the University of Siena, has detected the profile of a new Etruscan centre, probably mentioned in the literary sources as Caletra. The investigation of the settlement area and of the surrounding necropolises, with monumental tumuli and chamber tombs, deserves special attention. Current excavations on necropolises, such as the latest discoveries on the settlement will be discussed.
