PART – I
1. Introduction
Nursing education was started in Goa by the Portuguese during the 15th century, the first of its
kind in Asia. After liberation of Goa in 1961, the old nursing education courses were gradually
phased out and in their place the Union Government started new nursing courses according to the
Indian Nursing Council Regulations. The Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery Course was started in September
1964 and the General Nursing Midwifery Course was started in September 1965 with technical
assistance from W.H.O. and other help from U.N.I.C.E.F. The Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Course was
conducted from 1993-2006. In August 2005 the B.Sc. Nursing Course (Basic) was started.
Presently the Institute of Nursing Education conducts two courses (a) The Auxiliary Nurse
Midwife Course (b) B.Sc. Nursing Course (Basic). The Institute of Nursing Education functions as an
independent unit under the Directorate of Health Services of Goa. Students gain practical
experience in the Goa Medical College Hospital, Institute of Psychiatry and Human Behavior, Asilo
Hospital, Hospicio Hospital, Urban Health Centers and Primary Health Centers of the Directorate of
Health Services.
2. Philosophy
The faculty
* believes that the core of nursing is the individual (sick or well)/family and community, therefore the
nursing education programme run at the Institute of Nursing Education should primarily focus on
meeting the health needs of the individual/family/community.
* agrees that care is vital to the maintenance of a healthy life practice and to the recovery from
illness/disease and though caring is universal - the expression, of caring is to be adapted to the
cultural context of the individual/family.
* believes that effective communication is an essential basis for efficient client care and is
imperative in public dealing.
* is of the opinion that the students can be developed as change agents, irrespective of their socio-
economic background and cultural orientation.
* believes that education is a continuous learning process and that nursing education involves
imparting nursing theory, development of skills and attitudes that assist students to perform her/his
duties and assume professional responsibility and accountability as registered nurses.
* recognizes that optimum learning can occur in a stimulating, supportive environment in which
frequent feedback motivates students to excel.
* agrees that efficiency in the teaching-learning process is enhanced by teacher’s regularly
updating their knowledge through participation in in-service-education programmes and other
educational forums.
* believes that the curriculum should meet the changing health needs of society and hence needs to
be reviewed regularly.

3. Institutional Objectives

4. Courses of study and number of seats
The B.Sc. Nursing Course is a full time course extending over a period of 4 academic years.
Number of Seats – 40.
5. Ordinances & regulations relating to award of 4 year Bachelor of Science
Nursing degree of Goa University.
OC-30.1 Nomenclature of the Degree: The Degree awarded by Goa University in Nursing shall be “Bachelor of Science in Nursing”.

OC-30.2 Admission Requirements: A candidate admitted for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Course:
a) Should be 17 years of age.
b) Should have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (10+2) Science
Examination or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate in the
subjects of the Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.
OC- 30.3 Duration of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Course: The course shall be for four academic years including internship.
OC- 30.4 Minimum Duration of the academic year: The minimum duration of the academic year will be of at least 45 weeks including study leave and examinations.
OC-30.5 Eligibility for Award of Degree:
To be eligible for the award of the degree of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing a
candidate shall have to:
(a) Pass the four annual examinations i.e. (1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th year)
(b) Complete the assigned project work.
(c) Complete the required hours of laboratory, practical work and internship.
OC-30.6 Attendance: A candidate should have attended at least 80% of theory and practical in each subject in order to be eligible to appear for the examination. However, a
candidate shall be required to make up the shortfall in attendance of practical work
and internship to attain 100% attendance as required for the award of the degree
within a period of one year from the date of the 4th year examination. The college shall
certify that the candidate has successfully completed the practical work and
internship and shall submit the same to the University.
OC-30.7 Standard of Passing :
a) To pass an examination the candidate shall obtain 50% marks in internal assessments
and external assessments separately in each of the theory subjects. Candidates
securing less than 50% marks in the internal assessment shall not be allowed to appear
for the external examination.
b) To pass an examination the candidate shall obtain 50% marks in internal assessments
and external assessments separately in each of the practical subjects Candidates
securing less than 50% marks in the internal assessment shall not be allowed to appear
for the external Examination.
c) The theory and practical in a subject are to be considered as separate heads of
examination i.e. candidates shall have to pass both the theory and practical papers
separately.
d) Candidates have to pass in all the subjects in order to be promoted to the next year.

e) If a candidate fails in either theory or practical paper he/she has to re-appear for both
the papers (theory and practical). The candidate will not be eligible to claim exemption
in the component he/she passes. Such marks will be shown with the remark “N.E.” on
the result sheet.
OC-30.8 Supplementary Examination:
(a) A supplementary examination shall be held within six weeks from the date of declaration of the annual examination results.
(b) A candidate who wishes to appear at the supplementary examination shall have to
appear in all the subjects that he/she had failed in.
c) A candidate shall not be allowed to reappear if he/she has passed in the subject.
d) Only one supplementary examination shall be held every year.
e) A candidate who wishes to appear in the supplementary examination may be
admitted provisionally to the next year. However, he/she shall have to give an
undertaking that if he/she fails to pass all the subjects at the supplementary
examination, she /he shall reappear for the examination at the next annual examination
and that she/he shall rejoin the course only after she/he passes in all the subjects.
f) A candidate shall have to pass the previous year examination before being admitted
to the subsequent higher examination.
OC-30. 11 Number of attempts:
a) Maximum number of attempts permitted to pass an examination is three including
the first attempt.
OC- 30.12 Maximum duration for completing the course: a) The candidate must pass all the examinations within a period of eight years from
date of admission to the course.
b) The candidate must pass the first year examination within a period of three years from
date of admission to the course.
OC-30.13 Discontinuation: Candidate shall not be allowed to continue the course if: (a) The candidate does not pass any examination in 3 attempts OR
(b) The candidate does not pass the first year examinations within a period of 3 years
from the date of admission to course OR
(c) The candidate does not pass all the examinations within a period of eight years from
the date of admission to the course.
OC-30. 14 Obtaining a Class: (a) Class shall be awarded at the final year examination on the basis of the marks
obtained at all the four annual examinations.
(b) For the award of the degree the performance of the student at all the four annual
examinations shall be considered.
(c) Second Class. Those of the successful candidates who obtain 50% or more marks but
less than 60% marks in the total of all the subjects of all the examinations having passed

each examination in one attempt shall be considered to have passed the examination in
the “Second Class.”
(d)First Class: Those of the successful candidates who obtain 60% or more marks but
less than 70% marks of the total of all the subjects of all the examinations having passed
each examination in one attempt shall be considered to have passed the examination in
the ‘First Class’.
(e)Distinction: Those of the successful candidates who obtain 70% or more marks of the
total of all the subjects of all the examinations having passed each examination in one
attempt shall be considered to have passed the examination in ‘Distinction’
(f)Passes: A candidate who passes any of the examinations of the course in more than
one attempt shall not be eligible for any class. The remark against his/her result shall be
‘Passes’.

N.B. a) Caution fees will be refunded on the last day of the course provided she/he produces the

c) Fees will be refunded only on RETURN OF THE RECEIPT ISSUED D) Concessions in Tuition Fees Concession in tuition fee (only) will be offered, as follows to those students who have been residing
in Goa for a period of ten or more years, preceding the date of application.
1) The candidates admitted against the seats reserved for the categories of SC/ST/OBC shall be
eligible for concession of 50% for a minimum prescribed period of the course of study.
2) The candidates admitted against the seats reserved for the categories of FF/PH/ESM shall be
eligible for concession of 30% for a minimum prescribed period of the course of study.

3) The candidates admitted against the seats of General, PH, FF, & ESM categories shall be
eligible for concession of 50% for a minimum period of the course of study, provided the
income of both the parents from all the sources does not exceed 2,00,000/- per annum.
4) The maximum concession offered under any of the above clauses shall not exceed 50%
(combination of two clauses not permitted)
E) Mode of availing concession To avail concession of tuition fees:
a) Applicants belonging to S.C., S.T., & OBC category will have to submit an attested copy of a
certificate from the concerned Deputy Collector to that effect.
b) An applicant belonging to general/physically handicapped/freedom fighter/ex- serviceman
category shall have to produce a certificate in original from the Mamlatdar / Deputy. Collector,
countersigned by the Block Development Officer (for village areas) or Chief Officer of
Municipalities (for Municipal areas) at the time of admission along with the other documents,
stating the annual income of both the parents, from all the sources (including agricultural
income). The 50% concession in tuition fee shall be granted to the applicant if the above
income is less than Rs. 2,00,000/- per annum.
c) Applicants belonging to general/physically handicapped/freedom fighter/ex-serviceman
category who are unable to produce the required income certificate shall pay the full fee at the
time of admission. He may submit the same within 60 days from the date of admission and
claim refund/adjustment from the institute.
8. Hostel Accommodation
a) Hostel accommodation is compulsory
b) Students are expected to abide by the rules and regulations of the hostel. A copy of the same
will be provided to them at the time of admission
c) Any student reported and proved violating the hostel rules and regulations or misbehaving in
any form, which is detrimental to him/her or to the reputation of the institution, will be liable for
disciplinary action to be taken against him/her. This can amount up to expulsion from institute.
The Principal is empowered to take the disciplinary action deemed fit.
9. Bond. Every student admitted to the Institute of Nursing Education, for the B.Sc. Nursing Course is
required to execute a Bond examination within 30 days of admission that he/ she will
a) Complete the course *
b) Serve the Government of Goa for a period of five years after completion of the B.Sc. if called
upon to do so by the Government within in a period of six months from the date of completion
of the course. On failure to comply with the said obligation under the bond, the student will
be liable to pay to the Government a sum of Rs. One Lakh. The Government reserves the
right to post him/her anywhere within Goa State.
c) If the candidate admitted is below the age of 18 years the bond form should signed by the
parent/guardian

the undergraduate student shall not, leave without completing the degree course to which
he/she has been admitted by the Institute of Nursing Education and in case of default the
undergraduate student and/or the surety, jointly and severally shall be liable to pay a sum of
Rs. 1, 00,000/- (Rupees One Lakh only) to the Government as compensation besides
forfeiture of his/her fees or/and deposits paid to the Institute of Nursing Education.
10 ANTI-RAGGING
RAGGING IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED, AS PER THE GOA PROHIBITION OF RAGGING ACT, 2008:
GOA ACT 9 0F 2009. ANY STUDENT/STUDENTS WHO IS /ARE FOUND GUILTY OF RAGGING AND
/OR ABETTING RAGGING IS/ARE LIABLE FOR PUNISHMENT.
ON ADMISSION a) Every student and his/her Parent/Guardian shall provide affidavits affirming to the effect that
he/she has not been expelled and/or debarred by any institution for any act of ragging and further
that he/she will not indulge actively or passively, in the act or abet the act of ragging and if found
guilty of ragging and/or abetting ragging will be liable for punishment.
PUNISHMENT 1) Whoever directly or indirectly, commits, participates in, abets or propagates, ragging, within or
outside this institute shall, on conviction, be dealt with by the Principal of the institute and resorted
to disciplinary action.
2) If the individuals committing or abetting ragging are not identified, collective punishment will be
resorted as a deterrent punishment and to ensure collective pressure on the potential raggers.
3) Any student so convicted shall further be removed from the roll of the institution and such
students shall not be admitted in any other educational institution in the state of Goa for a period of
three years from the date of such conviction.
4) The punishment may also take the shape of:
(i) Withholding scholarship or other benefits;
(ii) Debarring from representation in events;
(iii) Withholding results; and
(iv) Suspension or expulsion from institution or hostel or mess, and the like.
5) Migration certificate issued by this institution will have an entry apart from that of general conduct
and behaviour whether the student had indulged in ragging and in particular was punished for
ragging.

11. Miscellaneous: a) Uniform
Students are expected to have four sets of uniform for practical experience in the hospital and two
sets of uniform for community health experience.
b) Library, laboratory and other facilities
Library facilities are provided to the students. Any library book lost/damaged by a student will have
to be replaced by her/him or the cost of the book is to be paid for. Laboratory facilities are also
provided in the Institute and in affiliated institutions.
c) Student Nurses Association
Students are required to enroll as members of the Student Nurses Association. The present
membership fee is Rs.100/- which is subject to change. This association is affiliated to the Student
Nurses Association of India and to the Trained Nurses Association of India (TNAI). Students are
expected to actively participate at the local, state and national level activities conducted by the
SNA/TNAI.
d) Progress update
Students must keep Parents\Guardians informed of their progress by updating them about their
performance in the regular assignments\tests etc. Parents\Guardians must realize that the training
of their wards is their joint responsibility. They must come to meet the Principal without fail
whenever called.
e) Health
Parents/Guardians should ensure that their ward is immunized against Hepatitis B before the
clinical posting.
f) The short fall in attendance should be made up for during the annual vacation of each respective
year. PART- II
1. Eligibility to apply for the course To be eligible to apply for the B.Sc. Nursing course an applicant
i) Should be a citizen of India.
ii) Should have completed 17 yrs of age on or before 31st December 2010 and should not exceed 30
years of age on the first day of the course.
iii) Should have passed HSSC examination of Goa Board or its equivalent examination with English,
Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as compulsory subjects and should have not less than 50% marks in
aggregate in all subjects and not less than 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.
Candidates belonging to SC/ST category should have at least 45% of marks in aggregate in all
subjects HSSC examination of Goa Board or its equivalent with not less than 50% marks in Physics,
Chemistry, Biology and English.

iv) Should have resided in Goa for a minimum period of 10 (ten) years preceding the year of
qualifying examination and should have studied and passed standard XI and XII in schools/colleges
in the state of Goa.
v) The condition of 10 (ten) years continuous residence shall not apply to: -
a) Applicant whose parents /grand parents are of Goan origin and who have completed 5 (five) years
continuous residence in Goa immediately preceding the year of qualifying examination and studied
and passed standard XI and XII in schools/colleges of Goa.
b) Children of Central Government employees including employees of central government public
sector undertaking and defense personnel transferred to and serving in Goa provided that they have
studied and passed standard XI and XII in schools/colleges of Goa provided further that such
applicants whose either parent is a central government employee serving in Goa and is transferred
out of Goa during the latter half of standard XI and or during the academic session of standard XII
shall be eligible.
c) Children of regular employees of Goa state government (including employees of Goa state
government public sector undertaking) who have studied and passed standard XI and XII from
schools/colleges in Goa.
d) Children of ex-service persons who have resided in the State of Goa continuously for a minimum
period of 5 years immediately preceding the year of qualifying examination provided that they have
studied and passed standard. XI and XII from schools/colleges in Goa.
e) Any period spent by the applicant in another State, under the Scheme of Exchange Programme as
the student of Navodaya Vidyalaya from Goa, shall be counted towards 10 years continuous
residence in Goa (5 years for those either of the parents/grandparents is born in Goa)
f) A Goan native (G.N.) applicant whose either of the parents/grandparents was born in Goa shall be
eligible to apply for a seat under this category, provided he/she has studied and passed the
qualifying examination from the school \colleges located outside Goa but within the States of India.
In the event of the seat from this category not being filled by the candidate as above the same will be
allotted to that candidate whose either of the parents/grandparents is born in Goa, and who have
studied and passed the qualifying examination from schools/colleges located outside India.
vi) Should possess good physical and mental health. A candidate found to be medically unfit will
have to discontinue the course.
vii) Knowledge of Konkani/Marathi is desirable.

2. Application for admission and certificates to be enclosed.
The application form is appended to the prospectus, which can be obtained from the office of
Institute of Nursing Education, Bambolim on payment of Rs.150/-(Rupees Hundred and Fifty only) in
cash.
A. Application for admission to the B.Sc. Nursing course should
1) Be addressed to the Principal, Institute of Nursing Education, Near Holy Cross Chapel Bambolim,
Goa 403202
2) Be submitted personally (in order to obtain an acknowledgement and an application number).
3) Reach the said office on or before 2nd June, 2010 by 4 p.m.
4) Be accompanied by certified true copies of the testimonials and certificates required vide Part II,
clause 3 of this prospectus.
B. An applicant can apply in more than one category. However the applicant must submit a separate application form along with all the required certificates for each category.
3. Certified copies of testimonials and certificates to be attached with the application: 1. Certificate of birth from the Registrar, Births and Deaths.
2. School leaving certificate from where the candidate has passed Standard X.
3. Certificate of passing and statement of marks obtained for HSSC or equivalent examination.
4. Certificate of having passed XII Standard examination issued by the respective board/school
from which she/he has passed the said examinations. This certificate should specify the medium of
instruction at HSSC examination.
5. Certificate of migration for students who have passed Standard XII from Boards other than HSSC Goa Board. 6. Eligibility Certificate from Goa University for those students who have passed Standard XII from
boards other than HSSC Goa Board
7. Certificate of residence from the Mamlatdar of the concerned Taluka indicating period of
continuous residence (minimum last 10 years) in Goa, preceding the month of application as per
Annexure I of the prospectus.
a) In case the continuous residence in Goa is less than 10 years but more than 5 years and the
applicant wants to claim concession on the grounds of parents/grandparents being born in Goa the
birth certificate of either the parents/grandparents from the Registrar of Births and deaths, and
documents to establish their links with the applicant.
b) An applicant claiming concession in period of residence under PART II 1. v) b) must produce
attested photocopy of the Central Government /Goa Government order indicating the place and
period of deputation and posting outside the state of Goa
c) An applicant claiming concession in period of residence under PART II (v) c) must produce till
date service certificate of the parent from the head of office/ department about posting of the
parent. The service certificate should indicate the full name of the parent, designation, date of
transfer order, place transferred from date of joining and present status of posting.

d) Applicants of Goan native category PART II 1.(v) (f) f must produce a certificate of nativity (either
by birth or domicile in Goa) either of parents/ grandparents from the competent authority, with the
certificate that the applicant has passed the qualifying examination from the schools/colleges
located outside Goa but within/outside India as the case may be.
8) Applicants claiming seats reserved for the children of a Freedom Fighters of Goa must produce a
certificate in the prescribed proforma,(Annexure V) from the Home Department, (Secretariat, Goa)
that either of his/her parents is registered as a Freedom Fighter of Goa indicating the date and
registration number.
9) In case of an applicant belonging to the Schedule Caste/Tribe category must produce a valid
NON MIGRANT caste Certificate in the prescribed proforma (Annexure II) from the Deputy Collector
of the area concerned. Certificates issued by the Village Panchayat /Mamladar shall not be
accepted.
10) Applicants claiming seats reserved for OBC category must produce a recent Caste Certificate
(non-creamy layer and/ non-migrant) in the prescribed pro-forma (Annexure III) from the Dy.
Collector of the area concerned. Certificates issued by Village Panchayat\ Mamlatdar shall not be
accepted.
11) In case of physically handicapped candidates a certificate from the constituted medical board of
GMC Hospital, Hospicio Hospital or Asilo Hospital regarding his/her disability and ability/fitness to
undergo all parts of the syllabus of the course. The percentage of disability should be recorded on
the fitness certificate. Persons suffering from not less than 40% (forty percent) disability shall be
eligible for the reserved seat.
12) In case of an applicant claiming additional marks on the basis of having taken part in sports, a
certificate from the Director of Sports and Youth Affairs, Panaji to the effect that she/he represented
the State or the country as the case may be in a recognized sport/game in a national or in an
international event at least once during the last two years preceding the year of application.
13) N.C.C ‘C’ Certificate if applicable.
14) Evidence of having participated in NCC contingent in the Republic day parade in New Delhi.
15) Applicants claiming seats reserved for the children of Ex-serviceman (Category F) shall be
required to produce a certificate from the secretary, Rajya Sainik Board indicating the full name the
date and Registration number of Ex-serviceman and Residence Certificate.
16) Applicants claiming seats reserved for the children of Goa state/Central Government employees
including Goa state /Central Government/Public Sector undertaking and defense personnel must

produce till date Service Certificate of the parent from the head of the office/Department about the
posting of the parent. The service certificate should indicate the full name of the parent, designation
date of transfer order, place transferred from , date of joining and present status of posting
17) Recent passport size photograph duly attested by a gazetted officer which is to be affixed on the
application form.
18) An applicant claiming concession in period of residence under category PART II (v) (e) must
produce attested photocopy of the Goa Government order indicating the place, period of
deputation and posting outside the state of Goa or a certificate stating that he/she is a student of
Navodaya Vidyalaya from Goa. .
19) All those claiming concession in tuition fees must submit at the time of admission “certificate of
income “in original from Mamlatdar /Deputy Collector, countersigned by the Block Development
Officer (For village areas) or Chief Officer of Municipalities (For municipal areas), along with other
documents, stating the annual income of both the parents, from all the sources( Including
agricultural income)
i) Incomplete applications and applications submitted after the due date and time 2nd June 2010 by 4
p.m. will not be considered.
ii) All certificates enclosed with the application form should be attested. Copies of certificates
attached with the application form will not be returned even if they are not selected for admission.
iii) No original certificates should be attached to the application however; the applicant will have to
produce the certificates in original for verification at the time of admission.
iv) Transference/leaving certificate from the school /college is to be produced within a period of 8
(eight) days from the date of their admission.
4. Allocation of Seats: Allocation of the 40 seats for the B.Sc. Nursing Course will be as follows

Goan Native (GN) Only one seat from the total of 40 seats will be allotted for a candidate applying
under GN category.
G.N. applicants have to specify under which category they are applying for i.e. a, b, c, d, e, f, g, h.
For allocation of seat to those candidates applying under GN category the selection will be based on
order of merit in whichever category the candidate has applied for. If more than one candidate who

has applied under GN category is selected on merit in the same category or in more than one
category only one candidate obtaining the highest score will be selected.
N.B: Any seat remaining unfilled in subgroup (b), (c), (d), (e), (f), (g) and (h) shall be transferred to
category (a).
5. Guidelines for selection a) Applicants to the course will be provisionally selected on order of merit, which will be based on
the aggregate marks in the qualifying HSSC examination
b) While computing the said marks;
i) Five marks will be added to the total marks of those applicants who have represented the State
in national events and ten marks will be added to the marks to those applicants representing the
country in international events at least once during the last 2 years preceding the year of
application. However the total marks allotted to any one candidate will not exceed ten.
ii) Five marks will be added to the total marks to those applicants who have passed the ‘C’
Certificate of NCC examination. Ten marks will be added to the total marks to those applicants
who are NCC Cadets and have represented Goa at the Republic Day parade in New Delhi.
iii) Selection will be made in order of merit.
iv) If two applicants are found to have scored equal number of marks in aggregate, the applicant
who has secured more marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology will be selected
v) If two applicants are found to have scored equal number of marks in aggregate and equal
marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology the applicant who has scored more marks in English
will be selected. vi) Five marks will be deducted from the total aggregate of marks for every attempt (maximum attempts permitted are three)
vii) For allocation of seat to those candidates applying under GN category the selection will be
based on order of merit in whichever category the candidate has applied. If more then one
candidate who has applied under GN category is selected on merit in the same category or in
more than one category the candidate obtaining the highest score will be selected.
6. Notification of selected applicants a) Eligibility list of applicants will be displayed on 10th June 2010 at 12 noon Applicants are
expected to bring to the notice of the Principal (in writing) any discrepancy on the eligibility list
within 48 hours, failing which the applicant himself/herself shall be responsible for the
consequence of such an error. The candidate should also ensure that the revised position if any
is informed to him/her.

b) The names of the applicants who are provisionally selected and are in the waiting list will be
displayed separately on the notice board of the Institute of Nursing Education, Bambolim Goa on
15th June 2010 at 12 noon.
c) Applicants who are provisionally selected for the B.Sc. Nursing Course will have to report to the
Institute of Nursing Education, Bambolim for verification of certificates and payment of fees (the
date will be intimated on the selection list)
d) The first list of selected wait listed applicants who are offered a seat will be displayed on 18th
June 2010 at 12 noon.
e) Selected waitlisted applicants who are desirous of joining the course should report by 10 a.m. on
19th June 2010 at 12 noon failing which the admission offer will be cancelled.
f) The second list of selected waitlisted applicants who are offered a seat will be displayed on 22nd
June 2010 at 12 noon.
g) Selected waitlisted applicants from the second list who are desirous of joining the course should report by 4 pm on 23rd June 2010 failing which the offer will be cancelled.
7. Cancellation of admission If any applicant who is offered admission does not report or pay the prescribed fees within the date
specified in the notice of admission, the offer will be treated as cancelled and seat will be offered to
the next eligible applicant from the merit list. Candidates unable to report for genuine reasons,
should intimate the Principal by telephone (2459727) or (2458191) or in writing on the same day.
However they are expected to report on the next day by 12 noon, failing which the admission offer
will be cancelled.
8. Refund of fees (ONLY ON RETURN OF RECEIPT ISSUED) A. Cancellation of Admission by Admitting Authority a) If an applicant who has paid the admission fees but fails to report to the college as per the date
given in the selection list/notice of admission he/she shall forfeit the claim for admission and his/her
entire admission fees paid shall be forfeited.
b) If any information/certificate submitted by the applicant in connection with his/her admission is
found to be incorrect later on at any time, his/her admission shall be cancelled forthwith and the
entire fees shall be forfeited.
c) Admission offered to the applicants shall be cancelled, if at a later stage, the Goa University
declares that the applicant is not eligible for admission. In this case, the entire fees except
admission fees (Rs.600/-) (Rupees Six Hundred only) will be refunded.

B. Cancellation by Candidate a) Admission fee of (Rs.600/-) (Rupees Six Hundred only)shall not be returned or refunded under
any circumstances
b) If an applicant desires to cancel his/her admission for any reason whatsoever, during the
admission process, but before the start of the academic session (the date decided by Goa
University), he/she shall be allowed to do so. It shall be presumed that the admission is cancelled at
that stage and he/she shall forfeit the admission fees. The other fees shall be returned to him/her.
c) If an applicant cancels the admission after the start of the academic session (the date decided
by Goa University), he/she shall be entitled for refund of fees, provided the refund is sought within 10
days from the date of admission. Besides the admission fee, Rs.600/- (Rupees Six Hundred only)
shall be deducted towards cancellation charges by the institution
d) If an applicant cancels the admission after the start of the academic session (the date decided
by Goa University), within 30 days from the date of Admission, he/she shall be entitled for refund of
fees, after deducting, besides the admission fee, Rs.1000/- (Rupees One Thousand only) towards
cancellation charges by the institution.
e) If an applicant cancels the admission after the start of the academic session (the date decided
by Goa University), after 30 days from the date of admission, no fees except caution fees will be
refunded subject to NOC from various departments and producing the receipt of caution fee
payment. In addition candidate will have to pay a bond as stipulated in Clause 9 a Part I.
9. If any changes come into effect after printing of the prospectus, they will be notified on the notice
board of Institute of Nursing Education, Bambolim –Goa.
