Energy Area

Activities of this Department in the Energy Area are directly related with the execution, by

commendment from the Regional Government, of Public Programs that encourage Energy

Saving and Energy Efficiency, and the promotion of Renewable Energy Sources.

Objectives:

Encouragement of Energy Saving and Energy Efficiency

Promotion of use of Renewable Energies

Colaboration with Public Administrations in the drawing up and implementation of Energy

Plans.

Information, training, spreading and rising awareness among the Canary Society of the

importance of Renewable Energy Sources and of Energy Saving and Efficiency

Support in obtaining Public Subsidies related with Saving and Energy Efficiency

LABORATORY FOR VERIFICATION AND TESTING OF INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTS

Management of the Official Metrology Laboratories, by

commendment from the Consejería de Empleo, Industria y

Comercio of the Regional Government.

At the moment, there are three areas in operation:

LEGAL METROLOGY

ELECTRIC AREA: Electric meter verification.

FLUIDS AREA: Water meter verification.

At present, we are in the process of obtaining accreditation

as a certified test laboratory according to Norm UNE EN ISO

17020, to apply for designation by the Regional Industry

Department of the Government as an Authorised Organisation

of Metrology Verification.
