Screen Description and Event(s) of Instruction addressed: The first screen in this presentation will be the home screen. It will capture the attention of the learners by asking them a probing question such as, “Do you have at least one favorite photograph stored on your Android smartphone that you do not want to lose?” The use of a probing question relates to Gagne's first event of learning, gaining attention, and Keller's attention in the ARCS Model. The screen will present the introduction, learning objectives, and tutorial requirements to the learners. It informs the learners that they are accessing the correct web-based tutorial. Robert Gagne's first event of instruction, gaining attention, will be addressed by the information on the home screen. In addition, Robert Gagne's second event of instruction, informing learners of objectives, will be addressed by the information in the objectives section.

How to Import Pictures?Welcome! Do you have at least one favorite photograph stored on your Android smartphone that you do not want to lose?This tutorial will identify the steps for using a USB cable to import pictures from your Android phone to a Windows computer. Click the play button to hear the audio clip.

ObjectivesAt the end of this tutorial you should be able to identify the steps to:

Transfer your photographs from an Android phone to a computer as a backup using a USB cable.

Locate your photographs files on a computer. Free up space on your Android phone to store

additional photographs. Archive digital photographs for safe keeping.

The tutorial requirements are: You will need to have basic computer skills and basic Android phone skills in order to successfully learn the targeted skills in the tutorial.

Section 1: Connect USB cable to Android phone and ComputerObjective:In this section, you will identify how to connect the USB cable to your Android phone and computer. The USB cable supplied with the Android phone can be

used to connect the Android phone to a computer. In order to identify how to connect your Android phone to a computer using the USB cable supplied with the phone, you will identify the larger USB cable end that will be inserted into the port on your computer, and the micro-USB cable end that will be inserted into the port on your Android phone. Figure 1.0 below can assist you with identifying the larger USB cable end, and the micro-USB cable end.

Keep in mind that your Android phone should be powered on and unlocked before inserting the micro-USB cable end into the micro-USB port on the bottom of the Android phone. This will enable the Android phone to recognize that you have inserted the micro-USB cable end into the micro-USB port. Figure 1.1 below can assist you with

identifying where to insert the micro-USB cable end into the micro-USB port on the bottom of the Android phone.

Also, keep in mind that your Windows computer will needTo be powered on before inserting the larger USB cable end into an open USB port on the computer. This will enable the computer to recognize that you have inserted the larger USB cable end into the USB port. Figure 1.2 below can assist you with identifying where to insert large USB cable end into the side of a laptop computer.

Section 2: Change USB Options to File TransferObjective:In this section, you will identify how to change USB options to File transfer on your Android phone. The File transfer option on an Android phone can be used

for importing photos from an Android phone to a computer. In this step you will identify how to change the USB options to File transfer option on your Android phone. The Menus or Icons on your Android phone may be different depending on the version of the software installed on your Android phone. Knowing what the USB icon looks like can help you find the File transfer option. Figure 2.0 below can assist you with identifying the USB icon on the Android phone.

Keep in mind that your Android phone will need to be powered on, unlocked and connected to your computer using the USB cable as identified in step 1 of the tutorial in order to display the USB icon. The USB icon along with the text "Tap to change USB options" should appear as a notification in the Status bar of your Android phone after completing step 1. You will need to tap with your finger on the "Tap to change USB options" notification to

change USB options. Figure 2.1 below can assist you with identifying the "Tap to change USB options" notification.

Also, keep in mind that after you tap your finger on "Tap to change USB options" notification, you will need to tap your finger on "File transfer" and then tap on "JUST ONCE" in the "Use USB connection for" window on the Android phone. Figure 2.2 below can assist you with identifying the "File transfer", and "JUST ONCE".

Section 3: Locate an Android phone device on computerObjective:The Android phone device can be found under "Portable Devices" that is located under the Computer menu on a Windows computer. In this step, you will identify how to locate an Android phone device on computer. In this step you will identify how to locate Android phone

device on computer. The Menus or Icons may be different depending on the version of software installed on your computer. For this step you will need to be able to recall your prerequisite basic computer skills to be able to locate the Computer menu on the version of Windows installed on your computer. Figure 3.0 below can help you to identify how a Windows Start icon, and Computer menu looks.

Next, you should see your Android smartphone device on the computer. It is normally located under "Portable Devices" on the computer. The "Portable Devices" should have your Android phone located under it on the

computer. Figure 3.1 below can help you identify how the "Portable Devices" looks on a Windows computer. For example in Figure 3.1, "LG Stylo2" is the Android phone device that has been connected to the computer using a USB cable, and is located under "Portable Devices"

your Windows computer. You will need to right click on the "Portable Devices" on the computer. One of the "Portable Devices" on the computer should be the Android phone device. The "LG Stylo2" is the Android phone that has been connected to the computer. Figure 4.0 below can help you identify how the "Portable Devices" looks again.

After you right click on the "LG Stylo2", you will need to select Import pictures and videos. Figure 4.1 below can help you identify how the "Import pictures and videos" looks on a Windows computer.

After you click on "Import pictures and videos", type a tag name in the "Tag these pictures (optional):" text box, to be able to identify your imported pictures on the computer. This is optional, but it helps to archive your pictures when you tag the pictures with a meaningful name. Figure 4.2 below can help you identify "Tag these pictures (optional):” text box on a Windows computer.

If you want to remove the pictures from your Android phone to free up storage space, click the "Erase after importing" checkbox after you click on the import button. Figure 4.3 below can help you identify "Erase after importing" checkbox.
