These major developments helped make 2012 a success and now we set our sights on the milestones we will mark in 2013. This summer, we will open the new Vee Quiva Hotel & Casino. Our newest property will provide our guests in the west valley with the sophisticated and modern experience they have come to expect at Wild Horse Pass Hotel & Casino and Lone Butte Casino. Our connection to the Simon Premium Outlets will link Wild Horse Pass Hotel & Casino to the most refined shopping experience in the Valley. All of this success comes from the outstanding level of guest service and support shown by each and every one of you. I look forward to welcoming the arrival of these new projects with you and I know that together, we can make 2013 a year to remember.

Congratulations to all the Team Members recognized this month for achieving

5, 10 or 15 year anniversaries with Gila River Casinos this January.

Each Team Member marking this impressive milestone is listed on the insert in this month’s issue of

the River Spirit.

Tax time is nearly here and that means gathering W-2 forms and filing your information before the

deadline on April 15th. W-2 forms for all Gila River Team Members will be available no later than January 31st.

The best place to find your W-2 form is on the ADP website. You can access the site through the

TeamWorks intranet site or visit https://portal.adp.com.

Thank you to all the Team Members who participated in the Holiday Food, Toy and Jacket

drive at Wild Horse Pass, Vee Quiva and Lone Butte Casinos. Together, we collected approximately

12,000 food items and 275 jackets for St. Vincent de Paul which will serve those in need throughout

the holiday season and beyond. In addition, approximately 150 toys were collected and

provided to children of the Gila River Indian Community.

Lose weight. Get a promotion. Save for a new car. Quit smoking. Most of us look at the new year as an opportunity to make a positive change. And as we all know, our good intentions typically last until February when reality finally settles in. So the trick is setting obtainable goals to ensure success. Example? “It’s always been a dream, so I’m going to GAIN 10 POUNDS THIS YEAR!” Silly, but for some reason, very obtainable when the resolution is bad for us. So the answer must lie somewhere in the middle, being both obtainable AND positive

long-term. How about this humble suggestion: Random Acts of Kindness. It’s as easy as picking one lucky internal or external guest and truly going the extra mile, just for the fun of it, once a day. Imagine the appreciation, the goodwill and the reaffirming nature this worthy resolution would mean to everyone involved. Who knows? You might like it so much that one person turns into two, two into three, and so on until it’s not a resolution anymore. It’s you.

FiFteen Years ago

The Arizona Cardinals hosted a kids camp for children in the Gila River Indian Community in December. The kids ran drills supervised

by training staff of the Cardinals, got a visit from mascot Big Red and had the opportunity to meet with a player.

Congratulations to Paul Mandigo and Deliah Rose. Paul was instrumental in achieving the Diversity in Business award on behalf of Ovations. Our food and beverage service providers were recognized by the

American Indian Chamber of Commerce of Arizona for their Native American Career and Development program.

Deliah Rose was recognized as the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Professional of the year by the Arizona chapter of HSMAI. She was

nominated by her peers and voted the winner by the board of directors of HSMAI for her outstanding work in the industry in 2012.

BIG OPENINGS IN 2013

2013 is here and it’s going to be a great year for Gila River Casinos. The new Vee Quiva Hotel & Casino is set to open this summer and the excitement is building faster than construction crews can move. In December the project was fully

enclosed and Fatburger was announced as the first restaurant to be located in the new property.

Across from Wild Horse Pass Hotel & Casino the new Simon Premium Outlets are taking shape. Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th has been announced and many more store names are soon to come. The path connecting the premium outlets to

Wild Horse Pass Hotel & Casino is also racing to completion and the project promises to add a dynamic new element to the area around the casino.
