A FEW USEFUL TIPS AND HINTS
Avoid drawing sharp corners - Affinity Designer brushes don’t support these on detailed brushes like these. Drawing sharp corners may result in brush distortion. To create corners simply use two separate brush strokes that either overlap or meet at a 90 degree angle.
Keep your brush strokes smooth and simple and avoid creating paths with too many anchor points. Running a brush along a complex path may cause your brush to distort.
HOW TO CROP BRUSH STROKE OR TEXTURES
To crop an object follow these steps:
1. Draw a closed shape using the PENCIL TOOL, PEN TOOL or create a vector shape where you’d like to crop the brush stroke or groups of brush strokes.
THE TEXTURES
I’ve supplied each texture as a 2000 x 2000 px Affinity Designer File. To use one simply open it, select the contents of the file then paste it into your design. Crop the texture as desired. Instructions on how to crop can be found below.
You can still move and edit the stroke/s in usual way even when cropped.
2. On the ‘LAYERS PANEL’ locate the brush stroke/s that you’d like to crop and drag it/them into the icon that represents shape that you just made.
