INSTRUCITONS FOR CATEGORY 1 CME CREDIT Certification. As an organization accredited for con- tinuing medical education, the American Academy of Dermatology certifies that when the CME material is used as directed, it meets the criteria for 2 hours' credit in Category 1 of the American Academy of Dermatol- ogy CME Award and the Physician's Recognition Award of the American Medical Association. Instri~ctions. Category 1 credit can be earned by reading the text material, taking the CME examination, and recording the answers on the perforated answer sheet entitled "Continuing Medical Education," which can be found after the examination. . Please record your medical education number (ME#) and the examination identification number in the spaces and scanning targets provided on the answer sheet. Your ME# can be found on your Academy membership card. Nonmembers of the Academy can ob- tain their ME#s from the American Medical Associ- ation. The examination identification number can be found at the beginning of the C M E examination. Use a No. 2 or soft lead pencil for marking the answer sheet. You may erase, but do so completely in order to prevent computer reading errors. Your ME# and examination identification number will be used to record your credit hours earned on the CME transcript system. No records of individual performance will be main- tained. Tear out the pcrforated answer sheet and print your name and address in the spaces provided. Return it within one month after the JOURNAL is received to: American Academy of Dermatology, Continuing Edu- cation Assessment Service, 1567 Maple Ave., Evanston, IL 60201. Answers will bc published in the next issue of the JOURNAL. A formal policy statement regarding Catcgory 1 credit for enduring materials has becn adopted by the Council on Education. This policy states that Category 1 CME accreditation of materials such as the J O U I ~ N A L article CME quiz is to be awarded for a 1-year period with a set expiration date at the conclusion of 1 year following the program issuance as thc CME articles are oriented to current and timely topics (of limited longev- ity). Accordingly, the Academy cannot accept answer sheets for credit beyond the 1-ycar limit. DR.
