Airport Cargo HandlingToday, cargo handling is an essential source of airport reve-nue.

As cargo handling is a high-volume, time-critical process, ap-plications need to be closely integrated with the airport sys-tem environment. Linking to the SITA network, for example, can dramatically reduce the effort for handling airway bills, as all the information necessary can be derived from the FFM messages. Another way to speed up processes is the incorpo-ration with the aeronautical billing.

Still, managing cargo handling is often found as a solution apart from the existing AODB and the aeronautical billing software. ISO has taken a step forward towards a fully in-tegrated airport operations suite with SKYport Cargo, which becomes an inherent component of the SKYport AODB.

Cargo Handling

SKYport Cargo extends the seasonal and daily flight plans of SKYport AODB by special flight types for road feeder service support, thus providing a common interface for both flight and cargo handling. User-customizable views ensure that this in-formation is provided to your cargo teams in a user-friendly way.

Managing Freight Shipments

For each flight, an unlimited number of freight shipments can be managed, identified by their Master Air Waybill (MAWB).

MAWB details are accessed directly from the daily flight plan. The intuitive dialog has been optimized for quick and easy data entry of these kinds of information:

� number of pieces

� weight

� contents

� damage/loss notes

� storage place

Cargo BillingSKYport Cargo is fully integrated with SKYport AODB, making all cargo information available in SKYport Billing – for faster billing cycles.

The powerful rule engine of SKYport Billing allows flexible and automated billing of all cargo charges. Whatever the fee – ba-sic cargo handling, warehousing, declaring to ATLAS or split-ting – SKYport Billing can calculate the charges automatically. Additional fees can be configured individually, and further ser-vices can be recorded manually.

SKYport Billing also handles invoicing, such as the generating and printing of collective invoices, even with customer-speci-fic tariffs. The software allows transferring data to the finan-cial accounting and can manage cash payments specifically for settling warehousing fees with the collecting party. � fully integrated into SKYport AODB

Advanced Handling Options for Import ShipmentsBesides managing airway bills, SKYport Cargo provides a va-riety of advanced handling options, such as creating customs declaration (via ATLAS or other Web Services), warehousing documents (i.e. manifests) and release documents for pickup (i.e. collection vouchers). Further options include taking the shipment out of the warehouse (collection), calculating the storage period (based on working hours and holiday calendar), and splitting shipments into individual HAWBs. SKYport Cargo also allows issuing status message (FSUs) through SITA.

Electronic Invoicing

By replacing the existing IATA Clearing House technologies with IS-XML, IATA has created an industry standard for elec-tronic invoicing of aeronautical and non-aeronautical billing.

IS-XML is mandatory for all airlines. IATA recommends that airlines insist that suppliers (i.e. airports and ground handlers) provide their invoices in IS-XML format.

ISO’s SKYport IS-XML is fully compliant with IATA IS-XML, enabling our customers to provide the airlines with electronic invoices. The software incorporates all predefined charge cat-egories and makes them available as PDFs for email attach-ment.

SKYport Billing handles all Charge Codes for the Billing Cat-egory Miscellaneous and Charge Category Cargo.

Quality Features

SKYport ConnectThe proven functionality of SKYport Connect provides various interfaces, including SITA. Data transfer using SITA supports freight-specific message formats such as:

� FFM

� FSU

� UCM

� CSN

� FFA

� FBL

In particular, cargo manifests can be read entirely from FFM messages, largely eliminating the need to record freight data manually.

The dispatch of FFM (import) messages and FSU (import) messages can occur automatically without user intervention.

CustomsCustoms handling can be done directly from SKYport Cargo using interfaces such as:

� ATLAS (D)

The connection to the ATLAS customs system is done through the ZABIS® solution of service provider Kewill. All relevant customs messages are automatically gene-rated from SKY-Cargo, sent to the provider’s via Websi-te interface and transmitted to customs from there. The feedback as to the release etc. is transmitted the same.

� eZoll (A)

The Connection to eZoll is done through ISO’s solution eCargo.

The existing technology allows connecting to other electronic customs services as well. The specific process has to be adapted according to local regulations.
