Pros vs. Cons

Pros• Calculators are almost a

must

• Technology makes information easily accessible

• Software allows for easier computation and further development

Cons• Some students don’t have the same

access to technology outside of the classroom

• Students become calculator dependent

• Some students don’t know how to use technology, so much of the lesson can be spent on instructing how to use the technology

Personal Belief

• I believe that technology is a good thing to utilize but a little goes a long way. Personally, I won’t allow my classroom to overuse technology because I believe math is a skill that everyone must have and you won’t always be able to look up the answer, or have a calculator to compute things. Understanding why things work the way they do is a part of the learning experience and can enhance and further progress the education of students in today’s technological age.
