Integrative Medicine Symposium Art and Wellness Exhibit Call for Entries The 2 nd Annual Integrative Medicine Symposium, scheduled for Friday, April 12, 2019, is pleased to provide those with art talent and a heart for wellness an opportunity to showcase their work. The theme of this year’s exhibit is Art and Wellness. Artwork that conflicts with the theme or setting of the exhibition will not be accepted. Acceptable Art Forms: Art should be original and represent the artist’s own creation. Submissions should have been completed within the last two years and be suitable for all ages. Entries can include any of the following media: Painting – oil, acrylic, mixed-media, watercolor Works on Paper – drawings, prints, collages Fiber Works – weaving, surface designs, original stitchery Photography –black and white or color. Printed photographs should be 5x7 or larger. TTUHSC Educational Media Services has also agreed to print digital submissions; guidelines are below. Sculpture/Ceramics – Any original sculptures or ceramics are accepted. Specifications for Entry: All works must be adequately prepared for hanging or installation. A limited number of easels will be available. Works that present hanging or installation problems (e.g. oversized or overweight) may not be accepted. The exhibition committee maintains the right to determine whether entries are appropriate for this exhibition. The Symposium will take every reasonable precaution with submitted works, but will not be responsible for any loss or damage. Awards: The symposium committee will make awards to recognize outstanding submissions from both TTUHSC and TTU artists. The awards will be announced and award certificates will be presented at the conclusion of the morning session around 12 pm. If you are submitting work please make effort to attend. Artwork Submission Deadlines: Each art work should be submitted with one entry form. Artwork other than those digital files submitted for printing by Educational Media Services entries must be delivered to the Department of Medical Education in HSC 5C186 on Monday, April 8 or Tuesday, April 9. Art Work Display: All accepted art work will be displayed at the TTUHSC Academic Classroom Building first floor lobby during the Integrative Medicine Symposium (9am to 4pm) on April 12, 2019. All artwork will be removed and stored for retrieval at the registration desk between 2pm and 4pm on April 12th. All unclaimed artwork will be taken to the Office of Interprofessional Education (3B150C) for pick-up the following week. Educational Media Service Printing Guidelines: To have TTUHSC Educational Media Services (EMS) print digital work at no cost to the artist, hand- deliver the file on a jump drive or CD-ROM to Educational Media Services located in HSC BC200 (basement of Wing C). Photographs will be printed and mounted for display as 16”x20” prints. Depending on the number of digital submissions, EMS reserves the right to limit the number of images printed for any one artist.
