Roles

Intel® Partner Alliance Role Definitions

Roles in Intel® Partner Alliance are designed to group partners based upon their business competencies. Each role has its own set of requirements and benefits designed to meet the needs of partners in that role. Choose the right role for your business model. When you register you will select the role that best matches your business competency.

Solution Provider Primarily resells OEM systems and software solutions and are growing their services business. Solution Providers provide technology solutions to consumer, commercial, and government end users, or through their own channel networks, which could include online or storefront retail.

Manufacturer (ODM, CM, HSI) Builds systems and sub-systems for both compute and IoT. Systems include Motherboard, Sub-systems (L4-10 systems), PCBA, and IoT function devices. Manufacturers provide their products to other partners, like OEMs, in the value chain.

OEM Primarily designs and brands their own products . They may have their own manufacturing, assembly, and configuration capabilities. OEMs may also purchase product/systems from ODMs and sell under their own brand. They provide technology solutions to consumer, commercial, and government end users, or through their own channel networks, which could include online or storefront retail.

Service Integrator (SI) Primarily architects and implements business process transformation and solution integration for their customers. Service Integrators typically play a consulting role by connecting and integrating software, hardware, and cloud solutions into IT or OT environments .

Distributor Intel® Authorized Distributors - Top tier Distributors that sell the latest Intel® processors, solid state drives (SSDs), server products and other components sourced directly from Intel. Intel® Approved Suppliers - Sell components with verified authenticity and quality, sourced from Intel authorized sources, or devices containing Intel technology, manufactured by Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).

Cloud Service Provider (CSP – IaaS, SaaS, PaaS) Offers components of cloud computing — typically infrastructure as a service (IaaS), software as a service (SaaS), or platform as a service (PaaS) — to other businesses or consumers .

FPGA Design Services Offers engineering services related to Intel® FPGAs, including RTL design, design optimization, IP integration, feasibility studies, testing and verification, and FPGA board design.

Guest A digital enterprise company or government organization who may not fit the traditional definition of a partner but who sets technology adoption precedents which influence the market .

Independent Software Vendor (ISV) Develops, sells and supports their own branded and non-branded software products, applications, OT and vertical segments.

Account Management OverviewThere are several different types of roles and responsibilities that registered users within a company can be assigned . The role of Partner Administrator within a company can manage the permissions for access or to manage specific benefits with the account’s value exchange .

Key capabilities:

• Assign access to certain benefits for specific users, i.e. Points Manager, Training Lead, etc.

Program Membership Renewal OverviewIntel® Partner Alliance is an annual membership program. Tiers will be assigned for a calendar year based on the criteria for the role that the partner participates in. Partners can upgrade throughout the year if they achieve the criteria for the next tier. Tier upgrades will be good for the balance of the current year as well as the next year.

Annual Renewal Measurement Period

Revenue, Training Credits & other criteria will be measured from October 1, 2020 – September 30, 2021 to establish the Intel Partner Alliance tier for 2022.

Upgrade Measurement Period

Intel® Partner Alliance plans to provide partners with the ability to upgrade as they reach the criteria for higher tiers. The exact details of the upgrade plan will be released when available.

How to Join

Earning Points

Intel® Partner Alliance “Points” benefit provides you with points earning opportunities that are refreshed each quarter. There are a variety of rewards, from vouchers and coupons to lifestyle benefits in the points redemption catalogue. Distributor and ODM vouchers offer a particularly unique opportunity to use your points for a discount on future purchases with your Intel® Authorized Distributors, Intel® Authorized Suppliers, and/or approved ODMs.

You will be automatically opted into the Intel® Partner Alliance “Points” benefit if you are enrolled in one of the eligible roles. Please see eligibility information below for details.

The Intel® Components & Systems Matrix, Intel®-based OEM Systems Matrix, and the Intel®-based ODM Matrix cover a broad range of products, while promotions may include specific products, bundles, training, or other activities.

The Intel® Partner Alliance Points “Points” Quarterly Matrices consist of products eligible to earn points on qualifying purchases. Purchases of eligible products or systems that contain eligible Intel components, from an approved Intel® Authorized Distributor, Intel® Authorized Component Supplier, Intel® Authorized Device Supplier, and/or ODM participating in the Intel® ODM program. Promotions provide an opportunity to earn points over and above the matrix CAPs .

Eligible partners may earn up to the CAP amount shown based on their badged Intel® Partner Alliance Tier for each Matrix. Matrix points offers for Specialties do not apply to the Matrix CAP and are not limited .

Points AccountYour Points Account will include a detailed account statement of your points benefit activity, including earning and redemption activity, as well as your account balance and other summaries .

You will see the following detail for the current quarter and the past 4 quarters:

• Your closing points balance from the previous quarter

• Points available from purchases or activities in the current quarter

• Points redeemed this quarter

• Current point balance

• Points expiring at the end of the current quarter

• Points expiring at the end of the next quarter

Points FAQHow does Intel calculate points awarded?

We calculate the points awarded with data reported by participating or approved Intel® distributors, suppliers, and ODMS as well as other relevant data sources and promotion-related sources.

Are Matrix and Promotion CAP different?

Each Matrix and each promotion have their own CAPs independent of each other.

Please see the Earning Points section for the Matrix CAPs based on your badged Tier. See specific promotion terms and conditions for details.

When do my points earnings show in my account?

In general, your account will show points awarded within 60 days from the end of the matrix or promotional period . Exceptions are noted in a promotion’s terms and conditions .

How long until my points expire?

Points awarded are valid for one year and will expire on the last day of the quarter.

Intel® Solutions Marketplace

Ways to Search Intel® Solutions Marketplace for Partners and Offerings

The Intel® Solutions Marketplace is an advanced digital B2B online platform to drive collaboration and co-creation in a new data-centric landscape. Partners that have posting access can create storefronts, post offerings, and showcase them to enterprise end customers and other partners in the eco-system. For partners that don’t have posting access or business end-users, Intel Solutions Marketplace is a vast resource in which to network with industry providers and discover offerings to meet their business needs.

Search for offerings using the general search bar located in the Intel® Solutions Marketplace blue header. For a more selective search, browse offerings by category, by market segment, industry, application, Intel technology, or regional coverage in the Intel Solutions Marketplace Partner Directory or Offering Catalog.

Partner Directory connects you with partners in the eco-system to learn more about their offerings so that you can find components, services, software, systems, and solutions that meet your business needs. You can also find partners within a certain business type or role, including manufacturer, distributor, FPGA Design services or solution provider. You can further filter by parameters such as program membership tier and regional coverage. Sales can then happen through your offline engagement with the partner.

Offering Catalog promotes partners’ products, services, software, systems, and solutions from eligible partners. This is one way you can discover and connect with partners and their offerings.

All Intel® Partner Alliance partners have access to the Intel® Solutions Marketplace. Gold and Titanium tiers have posting access, allowing them to create storefronts, post offerings, and receive leads. NOTE: Posting offerings in the Intel Solutions Marketplace is a requirement for some Gold and Titanium membership roles .

Advanced Warranty Replacement (AWR)

AWR is a limited premium warranty benefit available to Gold and Titanium partners in eligible partner roles .

On receiving a replacement request, Intel immediately ships out replacement product to the customer, without having to first wait for the defective part to be returned.

Product will be shipped1 the same day or early the next business day .

Unit Limits for AWR

Titanium = 25

Gold = 10

Standard Warranty Replacement (SWR)

Within 30 days of purchase, replacement should be done at the point of purchase with your Intel® Authorized Distributor.

If more than 30 days, Intel offers standard warranty service to all participants in the Intel® Partner Alliance .

Intel ships out a replacement part upon receipt of the non-functional or defective product that is eligible for warranty service.

Non-functional or defective parts for replacement must be returned within 30 days of the replacement request or the order replacement parts will be canceled .

Unit Limits for SWR

All Intel Partner Alliance partners = 20

The replacement product will be shipped1 once it has been received by Intel . 1Intel is not liable for failure to ship as estimated.
