Since 2004, Intel’s Global Benefits team has imagined, designed and delivered four indus- try leading programs that have significantly improved their employees’ engagement in their health and well-being. The programs enabled the company to avoid $100 million in total cost and established Intel as a leader in employer-sponsored healthcare. Intel now seeks to reinvent wellness through the 2015 launch of the Intel® Vitality Program. Program Overview The Intel® Vitality Program includes the two-step Intel Vitality Check and access to Intel Vitality Services. It is a proactive health and performance program put in place to encour- age employees to think about their health in a different way. This new wellness program focus- es on four essential areas to live a full life – mindset, nutrition, movement and recovery. Through the program, employees have access to staffed services, digital tools and a tailored plan they can choose to help perform their best to meet the demands of their day…whether that’s at home with loved ones or at work with Intel colleagues. Initiatives & Employee Engage- ment While many employer wellness programs offer a one size fits all approach that is focused on clinical data and offers limited support for change, Intel sought to reinvent wellness through tailored services that help employees “achieve their best self” and meet the demands of their day. The Intel Vitality Program enables individuals to attain big changes by emphasizing small steps and simple actions. The primary components of the program include the following: • Lifestyle focused: to help you lead a full life • Personalized action plan: to take small steps or big leaps • Live and remote 1:1 support: to coach and guide for sustainable change • Extensive Vitality Services: to support specific skill building • Café and fitness center integration: to facili- tate healthy choices Employees start the program with a Vitality Check where they complete a 10 minute digital assessment that reviews mindset, nutri- tion, movement and recovery.
