INTERACTIVE MAP OVERVIEW

The interactive map was used to identify what people liked, where they would like to see improvements, and other general comments about Providence Village. The map gathered a total of 59 unique comments. The engagement mirrored feedback received in the Community Survey and expanded on some ideas. Economic development ideas included a mixed-use town center with retail and housing.

As a way to increase restaurant availability in the area, having a food truck park and alcohol-related uses in the area were mentioned. Walkability and roadway connection improvements focused on adding connections throughout the community and to local retail opportunities, in addition to parks and recreation areas.

The table on the top right of this page displays the comment types and number of comments received. The word cloud on the bottom right shows the most frequently used words used in the comments.

1 I love Lake Providence and the trail around it 5 0

2 The trails around the lake are very well maintained 2 0

3 Absolutely love the pet wash. Always very clean and really feels like a quaint town amenity. 3 0

4Canine Cowboy kennel-free dog resort is a fantastic place dogs. You can drop them off for a play day or longer if you need to go out of town. Erin is so good with the dogs and I highly recommend this establishment.

1 No sidewalk for pedestrians. 9 2

2Definite eyesore. Not sure if anything could be done but possible fencing, landscaping and property cleanup so the machinery isn’t visible from the street and homes and the exterior of the fencing landscapes and well maintained to meet PV visual likeness

3 0

3Had this area have been in the condition it is now when we moved in last year, we absolutely would’ve chosen the community ofSavannah over PV due to how terrible this makes the drive into the neighborhood appear.

2 0

4Though they’re just baby turtles and ducks, something should be done to keep them from falling into the drainage ditch daily. There’s also always trash in both of these lakes.

6 1

5There is a nature trail here but like most the trails are not well marked. Often those who use it venture off the intended trail which is dangerous as well as it is destructive to the surrounding floral and fauna. It can also create an issue for those whose properties border near the trail.

6We need a sidewalk for all the kids that walk to school and have to walk in the street when it rains to not get muddy. It's not safe. For those of us who walk Our kids to school or walk for exercise it would be nice to Have a sidewalk here.

6 0

7This is a terrible eyesore too look at when driving to our neighborhood. You can see a bunch of construction machinery from the road, and it almost looks like a construction equipment graveyard.

3 0

8 This is terrible to have at the border of our neighborhood. Possibly having a fence to improve the look would be money well spent. 1 0

9There needs to be a stop sign here for the traffic on Dr. sanders. The traffic isn't always going the speed limit and with the foliage visibility issues, it's made for some close calls as I turn.

10I've been a PV resident for more that 10 years. This lake had slowly eroded and expanded to where the large rocks near the edge have fallen in the lake. I think there should be a plan to improve and restore the lake boarder back to the way it was originally planned.

2 0

11Fix this eyesore. And it makes a mess of the road when it rains. There's trucks are ruining our roads. They should be charged a toll fee for passing thru. Plus, they run all night!

It would be nice to spruce up the park, possibly adding another swing set and pirate netting they could walk across w/ a web swing as well as a slide for the kids. There are a couple of grills that have holes and are unusable & could use replacing. The book library is VERY popular but tiny and typically overflows. It would be cute to make it a double decker so smaller kids could reach a lower levelbox. I can see these improvements being beneficial to the kiddos.

13 People do. Not. Stop. At this stop sign. For all their bluster, our PD sure ignores this intersection. 1 0

14 This has gone nowhere...? What happened to the plans for Hero Park? It's a wasted space right now. 3 0

15 I was told 15 years ago that this would be a park. It's still an empty field. 1 0

16 adds debris to the street as well as adds noise. Definitely an eye sore. 0 0

17make the light cycle longer to account for trucks. To many CMVs in the morning that it clogs the turning lane. Make cycle longer to allow most traffic to turn unto 380.

1 0

18 resurface entry way. Isn't a level surface. Eventually low profile vehicles will bottom out . 0 0

19Repair fence near creek side. Currently cinder blocks are used to keep dogs from digging out. Park can get pretty muddy given half of it is dirt instead of grass.

0 0

20 Pretty muddy in here. Not well maintained. Dark at night. 0 0

21This intersection is already dangerous and now a 7-eleven will be built here. I certainly hope there are plans for a traffic signal or at least a 4 way stop here. Otherwise, someone will end up dying. Guaranteed.

1 A bridge here so we can walk to Aldi without being on the main road on providence Blvd. 14 1

2 A lot of people are speeding out of their driveway here and is very dangerous as the people in the driveway do not stop. 0 0

3 Can we get a little hometown town bar here? 19 0

4 Make a downtown, not just a small city hall, which is great. Encourage business, especially local. I am not smart enough to know how to, but smart enough to know that we need one.

11 0

5 A larger hiking and biking trail and Dog park. Someplace near here. 7 06 Golf cart/ walking trail to the winery. 8 0

7 I would like more small child friendly equipment in this park. It's all better for older kids. The other nearby park only has one structure and slide.

3 1

8 Solar lights for all of the parks. Lights to illuminate the parks at night. Solar so they're automatic at dark and don't have to be tied into electrical

17 1

9 I think a nice splash pad would be fun here. Or somewhere in the neighborhood. 5 0

10 Would love to have a community pool. The Landing does not have access to any of the rec opps in other parts of PV. 7 0

11 It would be nice to have a kiosk for the kids that are waiting for the bus. 3 012 Sidewalks that continue completely around both ponds on Cape Cod for biking and walking. 7 0

13 A paved sidewalk next to this park in order to get to the sidewalk that runs along the road and behind the small pond 7 0

14 I believe we should have a storm warning siren installed. 0 015 There could be a nice park in this space for dogs 0 1

16 Rodgers Lane between Prospect and Cape Cod is pitch black at night. It has NO streetlights. It is dangerous to walk a dog at night as you cannot see what's 5 feet in front of you. Can we please put in a couple streetlights on this road?

1 1

17 The number of cars parked on the street creates a problem driving through as well as prevents visibility of potential hazards. 0 0

18 Need cameras even if fake. Add cameras posted signs to scare off. Tired of the violence and drugs being sold at the skate park.

2 1

19 Possible to add sidewalk between Fair Oaks and Prospect. Currently have to enter the road when riding bikes. 1 0

20I agree with the “Downtown Square” idea. Mixed use could be visually appealing as well as bring in revenue. Possible 2-3 stories, tip floor residential, middle floor city activity/ HOA use or offices, bottom floor businesses. Something with a downtown look and feel, center square for a park or gathering areas.

21 Add a jacuzzi!!!!! 1 0

23Since I can't put my comment on the KC Distributing site, here it is. I heard the maker of Red Bull is closing this distributionlocation. PV can purchase for retail use.

24 jacuzzi 1 0

25 Can we add a pedestrian walkway that lights up? I'm always worried walking at this crossing, people run the stop sign. 3 0

26I also LOVE the idea of a PV downtown area (and the hometown bar.) To be clear, I prefer local small business vs corporate. We already have tons of the same shops around us on 380. A town center would be so amazing! PLEASE PLEASEPUHLEASE.

0 0

27I think a library would work well here. I would LOVE a PV library/community art center! If not here, then somewhere! Throw another park in there too for good measure. Something interactive like one of those giant chess boards.

28 FOOD TRUCK PARK 0 0

29 GOLF COURSE or something similar. 0 0

30 If we could put a coffee shop somewhere into the neighborhood I am sure it would be well received. 12 0
