It is a matter of great honour and pride that our Company has a strong presence in Kenya, Africa. We are currently executing

several projects in that country and in the near future hope to win many more. This has been possible due to the untiring and

dedicated efforts of Mr. Prashant Kapila, our COO & President. Recently, three senior officials from the Ministry of Land,

Housing and Urban Development, Kenya alongwith our associate partner from that country paid a visit to our Corporate Office

for the overseas training linked to the projects under execution in Kenya. From their busy schedule, they could take out some

time to visitAgra and Jaipur.

Another Country inAfrica which has proved lucky for our Company is Rwanda. The first project,

“Consultancy Services for Review and Update the Environmental and Social Impact

Assessment and Resettlement Action Plan for Selected Feeder Roads, Rwanda” was

awarded to our Company directly based on our reputation of providing quality and time bound

consultancy services. Now we have been awarded the first, approximately 100 km long

Expressway project – Expressway Kigali- Bugesera International Airport. The project

envisages, “Consultancy services for the Feasibility, Technical and Economic Studies and

Detailed Engineering Design and Preparation of Tender Documents”. The project will be

completed in two phases. Phase-1 will include Feasibility Study and Preliminary Engineering

Design and Phase-2, Detailed Engineering Design and Preparation of Tender Documents.

On 25th April 2015, a powerful 7.9 magnitude earthquake, epicentred near Kathmandu ripped through Nepal, and its strong

tremors and aftershocks affected North India, Bangladesh and Tibet. It even triggered an avalanche in Everest killing a number

of climbers and guides. The death toll is mounting everyday and no one is in a position to guess the final figure. So severe was

the earthquake, that it may have caused Kathmandu to budge by about 3m southward. India was very prompt in dispatching

the aid in terms of aircrafts, helicopters, medical teams, rescue teams, food articles, medicines etc. Our Hon'ble Prime Minister,

Shri Narendra Modi is personally keeping track of developments in Nepal and has promised all help to the Hon'ble President

Our CMD, Mr. K. K. Kapila, like in Uttarakhand disaster, has taken an initiative to assist Nepal by dispatching blankets and other

relief items to support the affected and displaced people in Nepal.

Our Company is also working on an offer of technical assistance in the form of suitable designs for the hills roads, for rebuilding

the earthquake ravaged country through expeditious reconstruction measures. Mr. Kapila will soon be sending this offer to the

Hon'bleAmbassador-Designate of Nepal in New Delhi, H.E. Shri Deep Kumar Upadhyay.

“Again with the stovepipe hat, Abe? Can't you just wear a baseball cap like the other kids?”

I'm not upset your lamb followed you to school Mary, but I would like to know how he got a better grade than you.

But Albert, it's your senior picture. Can't you do something about your hair? Styling gel, mousse, something...?

Of course I'm proud that you invented the electric bulb Thomas, now turn it off and get to bed.

MOTHERS DON'T CARE HOW FAMOUS YOU ARE

FIVE ESSENTIALS FOR PROJECT REPORTS

1. Identify Major Risks

2. List Major Issues:

3. Give a Progress Summary:

4. Update the Budget Forecast:

5. Use a Simple Status Indicator:

:

Every project has risks, so identify the main three risks and include them in the report. Whether you just wantstakeholders to know about the risks or the stakeholder wants these risks to be addressed resulting in preventionor reduction of the undesired effects of the identified risks. Accordingly the details should be added in thereport. And since risk status changes frequently, check in with the risk owners to make sure you have the latestupdate… the last thing you want is to report out-of-date information!

Like risks, problems with a project are inevitable. Provide a list of the major issues the project is facing, and whatsteps are being taken to resolve them. If you require input or action from your project sponsor or stakeholder, letthem know what you require to keep the project moving forward. Be sure to include the name of the personhandling the issue, as well as the timeframe in which the problem will be resolved.

One of the major issues that sponsors and stakeholders focus on is the status of project and whether or not it's onschedule. Include major project milestones and their status in your report. You don't need to list all, just pick thosethat are critical or most significant for the reporting period. If a milestone has not been achieved, note the slippageand provide the new date so that significant changes to the plan are clearly visible.

Your stakeholders are also likely to be focussed on as to how the budget of the project is being monitored. If itappears that the project will exceed the budget, the status report is an opportunity for stakeholders to reschedulethe budget. On the contrary, if there is going to be considerable savings, you must let your stakeholder know aboutit so that the amount can be utilized for other works. Don't worry about providing a lot of details, just a high-leveloverview of what was budgeted, what has been spent and where the project will be, expenditure-wise, when it'sover.

Make it easy for your stakeholders to know how a project is progressing. The standard traffic light colours(red/yellow/green) are well known to everyone, and provide at-a-glance view into how the various elements ofyour project are progressing. Typically, green means an element is progressing as planned, yellow indicatessomething isn't tracking as planned and red flags an item for sponsor or management attention.
