Things can be brought up to date by the simplest

The charming industrial character of the former Verkade
biscuit and chocolate factory was maintained by using the
original fl oors and walls tiles, the cast-iron columns and the
steel roof construction. The partition walls, the light fi ttings
and much of the 1960s Jumbo furniture, were re-used but
subtly modifi ed into a more modern incarnation.

The De Leur Wasch Studio reflects the riches of all that is
best in modernism. Their work is based on the interaction of
beautifully detailed designs, subtle proportions combined with
an innovative understanding of colours and materials. Products
and interiors are contemporary and long lasting. The strength
of their design work lies in its diversity and adaptability;
qualities that have evolved over many years of experience.
The Studio is run by the interior architect Eric Wasch, working
in combination with the industrial designer Helen de Leur
who has been a Lecturer at the Design Academy in Eindhoven
for the last twenty years. Their joint portfolio is very varied;
including interiors for offices, private homes, custom-made
furniture, colour and collection advice, carpet collections
and even interiors for sightseeing boats.
For many years the Studio was responsible for designing
the regional offices and the board of directors floors
for the Dutch ING Bank and for the insurer, Nationale
Nederlanden, creatively renovating existing interiors with
a clear, user-friendly plan, always keeping within the
character of the space involved and within the confines of
a strict budget.
Studio De Leur Wasch
Established in 1998: a dynamic
combination of interior architecture
and industrial design
The Studio has been commissioned to design colour and
material concepts for floors, walls and interior textiles for a
number of well-known factories, including carpet collections
for Leoxx, exterior wall cladding for Rockpanel, interior
panels for Trespa and rugs for Danskina.
The designers make sure that they are continually in touch
with the latest international trends in Architecture, furniture
and textiles. The Studio is connected with a broad network
of Architects, designers and specialists with whom they have
developed long term and good working relationships. They
are very aware that working with others is crucial for keeping
alert and ready to take on the best and most suitable
solutions for each new design challenge.

A project always begins with an on site discussion with
the Clients, followed by an agreed list of requirements
that we compile with care. We develop this along with
further consultation as required until we achieve a unique,
functional and personal interior design.
