3D Interior Designs using SketchUp - Level 2

Description: Full Circle Design FZLLC is excited to offer an intermediate 3D SketchUp course. Building on

the skills learnt from SketchUp 1, this course will provide you with the skills to make an entire home and

bespoke furniture from scratch. 3D warehouse is a great tool but cannot provide everything, such as

bespoke built in units, and custom kitchens. In SketchUp 2 you will be working on a living, dining, kitchen

open plan room, with lots of built in and bar areas. You will be making custom furniture pieces, tackling

stairs, custom built in units and making a full kitchen design. This course is particularly useful for students

that want to enhance their Residential levels 2 & 3 final project work. The course will run over 4 weeks,

with each module building upon the previous in order that, by the end of the course, you will have a

thorough understanding of the program and its capabilities, through complete hands-on training.

Lesson 1:

• Importing AutoCAD plans in 3D SketchUp

• Making carcass, stairs and built- ins.

• Making ceiling and flooring designs.

• Adding windows and doors.

Lesson 2:

• Making kitchen designs from plan

• Extruding kitchen design and adding countertops

• Adding appliances

• Adding custom shelving

Lesson 3: • Importing images of furniture. • Tracing furniture and using tools to join pieces together.

• Adding interior design soft touches to space

• Making TV unit and cut out designs.

• Adding accessories to TV and kitchen shelving

Lesson 4:

• Adding colour to the 3D

• Adding camera angles and walk through camera.

• Changing the style of the final image

• Exporting shots

Entry requirements:

Students registering for this course must have completed at least 3D Interior Designs using SketchUp -

Level 1 with Full Circle Design, OR an equivalent qualification. Architects and Interior Designers who need

to update their skills are very welcome to join.

Equipment/Materials Needed: Laptop with Google SketchUp program downloaded (1- month free trial

available) charger, wheel mouse and USB memory stick. Students must have proficient working knowledge

of their laptop (PC or Mac) and be able to navigate it without supervision.

Completion Letter: If students successfully complete the final course project, they will receive a ‘Letter of Completion’ Certificate which is a useful starting point into a new career of Interior Design or Decoration. The letter displays the British Interior Design Institute (BIID) and the Association of Professional Interior

Designers (APID) logos which are internationally recognised. If students miss more than one lesson, they

will be required to repeat the whole course at the original fee paid.

Diploma: If students successfully complete 6 or more courses with Full Circle Design FZLLC, they will

receive a graded Diploma from Full Circle Design FZLLC. The Diploma displays the British Interior Design

Institute (BIID) and the Association of Professional Interior Designers (APID) logos which are internationally

recognised.

Students must demonstrate competency in residential/commercial/ professional design and Computer Aided Design (CAD). Internships/Employment/Networking Opportunities: Many previous advanced students were provided with internships, freelance work opportunities and employment through Full Circle Design FZLLC contacts in the market. Students are eligible to join our Internship Programme once they have completed at least 3 courses with us + have a knowledge of AutoCAD. Please ask for the ‘Internship Programme Application Form’ if you are interested in such opportunities. Tutor profile: Anam Siddiqui

Anam has 10 years of design experience, 7 of those in the Middle East, including running her own practise.

Her portfolio includes Residential, Commercial, Hospitality and Food and Beverage projects all over the

world. She has been featured in many magazines for her work such as Harpers Bazaar, Inside out, Grazia

etc. She speaks yearly at the Index exhibition in the UAE and also writes a column for Emirates Home

regularly.

Anam has used SketchUp for 10 years and has full extensive knowledge of the programme. She looks

forward to sharing her tricks of the trade with her students, helping them to develop their skills and

inspiring them to learn more about this wonderful programme.

Anam’s interests include travelling, fitness, attending interior design exhibitions and spending hours on pinterest.
