STUART AND NANCY RABINOWITZ HONORS COLLEGEEntrance to Stuart and Nancy Rabinowitz Honors College is by invitation only and occurs after a student’s acceptance to the University.

*DUAL-DEGREE PROGRAMSA dual-degree program may allow the student to earn both an undergraduate and graduate degree in less time than if each degree were pursued separately. Hofstra University offers more than 100 dual-degree programs, many of them in the Zarb School of Business. These programs take more than four years to complete. Please note that Hofstra awards credit for A-level, Abitur, the IB Diploma, AP credits, etc. Advanced standing and collegiate-level credits may be awarded based on students’ performance on these exams and certain other upper-secondary school certificates. Students should send score reports to the Office of Admission for evaluation. An official evaluation of a student’s secondary school record is often helpful in this process and can be provided by organizations such as World Education Services (WES, wes.org).

HOFSTRA UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS FOR FIRST-YEAR STUDENTSFor all scholarship opportunities, candidates are selected based on a holistic review of the information supplied on their admission application. To see our fall 2021 award criteria, visit hofstra.edu/fyscholarships.

• Presidential Scholarship: $25,000-$26,000 per year (typically offered to over 25% of admitted students)

• Provost Scholarship: $24,000-$25,000 per year (typically offered to over 32% of admitted students)

• Dean’s Scholarship: $8,500-$21,500 per year (typically offered to over 50% of admitted students)

• Grant Programs: Up to $5,000

*The Academic English Program creates opportunities for international students to develop the academic, critical thinking, and linguistic skills necessary to succeed at a U.S. university. You will receive high-quality English language instruction and the academic skills training to succeed at Hofstra. Students will be assessed for their English language capabilities upon arrival.

International students may apply to Hofstra using the Hofstra application or the Common Application, both available at hofstra.edu/apply. Please note that we are a test-optional university. Accepted students will be considered automatically for merit-based scholarships. International applicants must submit the following:

• Completed application • Nonrefundable application fee• Transcripts for all secondary and postsecondary coursework

(Transcripts for Grades 9, 10, and 11 must be in English.)• Demonstrated English proficiency (A variety of tests and other criteria, such as SAT,

ACT, TOEFL, or IELTS, will fulfill this requirement; please contact us for a full list.)• One letter of recommendation

Once you are conditionally accepted to Hofstra, we will ask you to submit the following documents before we can offer you full admission and issue your I-20:• Financial bank statement • Copy of passport • Financial Verification Form • Affidavit of Support Form

If you submit the documents via email, be sure to include your full name and Hofstra ID number in the subject line. PATHWAY PROGRAM: If you meet the University’s undergraduate admission requirements and have achieved a TOEFL iBT® score lower than 80 or an IELTS score lower than 6.5, Hofstra will grant you conditional acceptance. You may progress to a pathway program or to a Hofstra degree program after achieving the language level required and meeting all other requirements through the Academic English Program.*
