Remember the first time you ever sang? Probably not. But remember the first time you ever sang on stage? Now there’s a memory. The mix of nerves, adrenaline,

emotion and sheer joy when you strike that chord and feel your audience hang on to every last note, well, it’s special. Singing hymns, rock songs or folk ballads that

are charged with such emotion that it’s almost palpable is one of the most incredible feelings, and we want to help you experience that on an international scale.

As singers ourselves, encouraging the ambitions of passionate musicians and providing them with special performance

opportunities is at the heart of what we do. Choirs often tell us how beneficial it is to spend an intensive period of time together

to both grow in confidence and develop as a unit, with a concert tour often being the next step towards progression.

So swap your regular rehearsal venue for a world-renowned cathedral, sacred church or scenic promenade and give your next performance

a breathtaking backdrop of spectacular architecture, historic grandeur and pretty gardens. We’ll take you to an exciting new choral

scene where inspiring venues are at your disposal, fine-tuning every detail of your tour so you can focus on the music. So whatever

your sound and style, we hope you find something that inspires you to take that ‘musical leap’ onto the international stage.

From medieval belfries and old-world castles, to contemporary museums and stylish cafés, Belgium is a historical haven with a modern twist. Whilst its cobbled streets and winding canals

give the country its endearing old-world charm, its urban gems bring an edgy feel to its bustling cities.

With the opportunity to base your choir in Bruges, Ghent, Brussels or Ypres, you can choose to

hop between Belgium’s beautiful cities, performing in a variety of venues across the country.

From the magnificent Brussels Cathedral to the renowned Menin Gate, a tour to Belgium

offers a range of exciting performance opportunities to suit any choir’s style and repertoire.

Brussels CathedralBased in the centre of Brussels, the Cathedral of St

Michael and St Gudula is one of our favourite venues in

Belgium. Its impressive Gothic interior, complete with

striking stained-glass windows, provides a beautiful

setting for choral performances. The congregation

warmly welcomes touring choirs and groups can expect

a large audience, comprised of locals and tourists.

The Ghent FestivalIn July the city of Ghent comes to life as people

from all over the world flock to enjoy Belgium’s most

renowned arts festival. Attracting over 55,000 visitors

each year, some 180 concerts are performed by over

1,500 international artists. Your choir can join in the

festivities by performing on the main stage in Ghent’s

central square or in one of the city’s beautiful churches.

Journey’s End Theatre ProductionNew for 2018, you can combine your performance with tickets

to see the new live trench theatre production, Journey’s End.

Set on the very battlefields of WWI, you’ll be taken on an

emotional journey through the war accounts of 8 soldiers in

this highly acclaimed and intimate theatrical experience.

Your time at leisureWith so much to explore in Bruges, Brussels, Ghent and Ypres, your time in Belgium

can be spent exploring medieval streets, visiting First World War memorials, strolling

along canals or simply tucking into traditional waffles at the local cafes!

• Visit the battlefields of the Ypres Salient and the newly refurbished In Flanders Field

Museum, which showcases a range of personal accounts from the First World War.

• Enjoy a guided tour of the family-run Brewery De Halve Maan in Bruges. Explore the

in Belgium which cater specifically for the needs of

travelling music ensembles, featuring rehearsal space

the heart of Bruges or a hostel in the Belgian countryside,

we can recommend the best places to match your

location preference, facility requirements and budget.

See it for yourself…Watch City of Bristol Choir’s Belgium tour film on our website!

Visit YpresBring a historical twist to your tour with a day trip to Ypres. Visits

to the In Flanders Fields Museum, the Tyne Cot Cemetery and

the reconstructed trenches at Passchendaele and Bayernwald

will give your group a greater understanding of the conflicts

of the First World War and, with the opportunity to perform

as part of the Last Post Ceremony at the Menin Gate, your

choir can be a part of the Centenary commemorations.

Perform at the Menin GateThe Menin Gate displays the names of over 54,000 British and

Commonwealth soldiers who died in the First World War and have no

known grave. At 8pm every evening, traffic through the gate is stopped

as buglers from the local volunteer fire service play the Last Post.

A memorable moment for many of our choirs is the honour of

performing as part of the Last Post Ceremony. This is always an

emotional experience, made even more moving during the 4-year

period of the First World War Centenary commemoration.
