Main objective of the RASG-EUR
To support the implementation of the GASP and GASR in the region.

Proposed Targets in revised GASP
Targets
– Significantly reduce the rate of runway safety related accidents and serious incidents;
– Significantly reduce the rate of loss of control in-flight related accidents and serious incidents;
– Continue to lower the rate of CFIT related accidents and serious incidents; and
– Significantly reduce the rate of accidents and serious incidents associated with system component failures

Working method
The RASG-EUR/01 first met 23-24 Jan 2012It highlighted the necessity to:– avoid duplication with already established
mechanisms, in particular within the EU/EASA framework; and
– focus its efforts on the parts of the region which have not yet established a performance based aviation system and are lacking the required safety analysis capabilities

RASG-EUR Coordination Group (RCOG)
Will meet on 24-25 April 2012Will prepare a work programme for the RASG-
EUR, including:
– the review of existing mechanisms and initiatives to address runway safety in the region; and
– the identification of any needs for additional actions in parts of the EUR/NAT region.
