Leganés, 18-21 September 2001-07-02

Dear Friends and Colleagues

It is a great pleasure to present you the Final Programme of the International Conferenceon Advances in Materials and Processing Technologies (AMPT’01). The topics of this con-ference are broad within the Materials Science and Processing and are distributed in diffe-rent sessions: Metals, Ceramics, Polymers, Composites, Surface Engineering, HybridMaterials and Modelling. 516 papers from 52 countries are going to be presented duringthe Congress. Each of the three symposium days will start by a Keynote lecture with aninternational outstanding speaker. Following the Plenary lecture, four parallel sessions willtake place, consisting of two oral sessions: morning, and afternoon. These sessions provide a large number of organisations and private companies with oppor-tunities to present their latest research and development activities. I would like to inviteyou to participate and interact with the speakers and other attendees of this Congress.Besides attending this Conference, please, enjoy the social events and the cultural life thatMadrid offers you.

In this booklet, delegates will find information on the registration procedures, and on thetime and venue for all presentations.

The Organizing Committee and myself, would like to thank the main sponsors (Ministeriode Ciencia y Tecnología, Universidad Carlos III de Madrid–Vicerrectorado de Investigación,Ayuntamiento de Leganés y ACERALIA) as well as the other collaborating companies whosesupport have allowed to have this successfully conference. Also thanks to the members ofthe AMTP International Advisory Committee and the Scientific Committee for AMTP’01.Special thanks to the local Organizing Committee, the core of the Powder TechnologyGroup for their effort on this ProjectI hope that this Symposium will be very successful and fruitful to all of you and will con-tribute to further development in the field of Materials Science and Technology.
