International Credit Mobility
• Opening of Erasmus to the World
• Short-term mobility for students (3-12 months) &
staff (5-60 days)
• Mobility for Bachelor's, Master's, PhD & staff
• Bilateral agreements between HEIs from
Programme & Partner Countries
What ICM is not
Not a simple follow-up of Erasmus Mundus - Action 2
• international consortia bilateral agreements
• centralised decentralised management (NAs)
Not a "pure" extension of intra-European Erasmus
• Limited financial resources competitive selection
process (qualitative assessment)
• Reflecting EU external policy priorities
• European universities manage outgoing and incoming
mobilities
EU funding
• Total ICM budget (2015-20): EUR 761 M
• Turkey: EUR 27 M (~7,000 mobilities from 2015-2020)
• Funding provides:
• Organisational support grant for participating institutions
(€350 up to 100 participants, then €250)
• Individual support for students (€650-850/month) and staff
(€100-160/day)
• Travel costs based on distance (€180-1100)
