International Educational Document Requirements by Country ( 2021 / 2022 )

1. After applying, your senior secondary (high school) and higher education (post-secondary) academic records are required to assess your application for admission. Check the country listings on the following pages where your education was completed for specific details on official documents. You can upload unofficial or original documents for a first assessment.

If you completed Advanced Placement (AP) courses in senior secondary (high school) anywhere in the world and sat AP exams, order the transcript (use institution code 5976) to be sent directly to our office from: collegeboard.org

If you completed International Baccalaureate (IB) courses in senior secondary (high school) anywhere in the world and sat IB exams, order the transcript (use institution code 001763) to be sent directly to our office from: ibo.org NOTE: this is not the same exit exam as for French Pattern high school.

2. Using myStudentSystem, please upload scans—in colour—of both sides of original documents (even if one side appears

blank) to My Documents tile. All uploads must be a pdf.

Monitor myStudentSystem and myMacEwan email at least weekly during the admissions process.

3. Unsealed documents in your possession are considered original. They are unofficial, including transcripts (mark statements, relevé des notes and the like). Transcripts are academic records of the courses taken, credits/hours completed, and grades earned. Original documents include graduation credentials (diploma for senior secondary) or other qualifications/credentials like a degree earned in higher education.

4. Unofficial Transcripts/Documents: If your uploaded documents contain enough detail, we will complete an initial

evaluation. We may be able to extend a conditional offer with these unofficial documents. If you are working on getting official documents and your institution/educational authority issues documents directly to you, the institution/educational authority must seal the envelope (stamp/sign-over the back flap of the envelope) for us to consider them official. Do not open sealed documents. Opened documents are not official.



5. Translations: MacEwan University is an English medium of instruction university. Translations must include the original document and the certified translation and translator information. For all academic records including transcripts (examination results, mark records, relevé des notes and the like) and qualifications/credentials not issued in English we require a certified English language translation. Translations must:

• be completed by a translator who is certified to translate from the original language to English (you must include translator information),

• be complete, literal, word-for-word, and • be laid out in the same format as the original document.

Please scan your translation(s) in colour (both sides, even if one is blank) as a pdf and upload to My Documents in myStudentSystem.

6. Official Transcript: Transcripts are considered official only when sent directly from the issuing authority or institution(s)

to the Office of the University Registrar (exceptions are rare) or submitted still sealed from the sending authority/institution. Many institutions use verified online systems. However, if you deliver documents to us by re-sending them via courier or dropping them at the front counter, they must still be in the envelope sealed by the sender—do not open sealed envelopes to avoid having to order them again. Arrange to have them mailed, couriered or dropped off at the front counter of the Office of the University Registrar. Official transcripts become the property of the Office of the University Registrar of MacEwan University, including when they are submitted directly by you.

7. If we need to examine original documents in your possession, we will contact you.

Note: Admissions reserves the right to request further documentation and will do so through your myMacEwan email.

Upload a full colour (both sides) image of your degree certificate(s) or license(s)/certificate(s) (Diploma, Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral; Registration Certificate for nursing, Secondary Teacher’s Diploma awarded by University of Zambia, Accounting Technician’s Certificate, Accounting Technician’s Diploma)

Arrange to have your academic transcript(s) issued by each institution attended sent directly to our office from institution If institution(s) gives you documents in sealed envelope, do not open sealed envelope. It must have a stamp or signature over the flap on the back of the envelope to be acceptable by admissions. Mail/courier or drop them at our front counter. Zimbabwe
