Your University Campus

www.le.ac.uk/isc 29

Our campus offers the best of both worldsIt’s compact so nothing is more than a few minutes’ walk away, but we’re also located within easy reach of the city centre.

The campus architecture ranges from the Georgian grandeur of the Fielding Johnson Building to the state-of-the-art David Wilson Library. The University’s distinctive silhouette is formed by three towers, which include the world-famous Engineering Building. The campus is located beside Victoria Park so there’s plenty of green space too.

The campus has all you need - a bookshop and other shops, a bank, restaurants, cafés and bars, Students’ Union, O2 Academy Leicester, arts centre, sports hall, Accommodation Office, International Office, Career Development Service, and Welfare Service.

We’re committed to sustainability in everything that we do. All new developments are designed to be as environmentally friendly as possible, including features such as solar panels, rainwater harvesting, sustainable materials and natural ventilation.

A recent investment of £55 million, combined with our £1 billion development plan, supports our ongoing campus development. This ensures we can provide world-class resources that meet the needs of our ambitious students.

Leicester is a vibrant and multicultural cityThanks to its friendliness and energetic atmosphere, the city attracts students from all over the world.

Leicester enjoys all the advantages of a major city without being too big. It’s easy to navigate and you’ll soon feel at home. Our International Study Centre is located within the city centre, which means you will have convenient access to all the wonderful things Leicester has to offer.

Leicester has a large student population, which gives the city a young and lively atmosphere. Whether you enjoy shopping, culture or sports, you’ll find a huge choice of fun activities for when you want a break from your studies. Leicester is the most affordable city for first-year students (HSBC research).

Leicester is in the centre of England and is well-connected by road, rail and air. London is just over an hour away by train, and many other places of interest are within easy reach, including Stratford-upon-Avon (the birthplace of William Shakespeare), Oxford and Cambridge. If you want to visit other countries or travel home during the holidays, Birmingham and Heathrow airports are also close by, making the city easily accessible from other parts of the world.

Leicester is culturally diverse. You can find people from many backgrounds. I like Leicester because it’s very small and it’s a student-oriented city. It’s very easy to talk to people and make friends. Manal from India International Foundation Year – Economics and Management Now studying BA Management Studies
